Chapter 276: Chapter 276: Mr. Song, there’s been an ident!_1

Online Game Operations Department, Director’s Office.

It’s already three in the morning, yet the lights inside are still zing.

Yu Qing, Murong Yan, and Lin Beichen stared wide-eyed at theirputer screens, incessantly typing and clicking.

In front of themy stacks of printed documents.

Data collection, data aggregation, data analysis, trend evaluation, decay rate calction.

This was a massive project. To obtain urate assessment results, they had employed more than three statistical analysis methods, dissecting the data down to the change every hour—a truly obsessive endeavor.

On their desks, sat empty cans of functional beverages designed to stimte the brain and keep one awake.

In the cups, were the remnants of cold coffee.

Yu Qing and Murong Yan were doing fine, still able to hold on, their spirits high.

Lin Beichen, with dark circles heavy under his eyes, was barely keeping his energy up.

Ever since he became a director, he hadn’t worked this hard or stayed up thiste in many years.

"Can’t sleep, can’t sleep! Now is my time to shine, absolutely can’t sleep!" Lin Beichen repeatedly admonished himself in his mind.

However, his brain could onlyprehend one word at the moment, sleep.

Mr. Lin hadn’t pulled an all-nighter in ages, nor had he exercised; his body might look robust, but in reality, it was quite frail.

Unconsciously nodding off, Lin Beichen suddenly jerked awake, lifted his head, and cautiously looked around to see if anyone had noticed. After realizing no one had, he let out a sigh of relief.

But then, his pupils shrank in rm.

"Damn, what the hell! Where was I looking just now? Was it here... this decimal point, it looks so unfamiliar..."

The miserable Lin Beichen, with a gloomy face, scrolled back a great deal to start crosschecking anew.

If a mistake happened because of him, then all this suffering today would be in vain.

Offending another deputy director and being demoted again?

Not being fired would be a blessing!

"How’s iting along on your end? I’m waiting for it!" Yu Qing urged, his expression faintly impatient, with a hint of disdain.

Lin Beichen imed to be a finance major with top grades, but when it came to coboration, he was a letdown. He proved worse than those who had chosen this path halfway through and were now adept at the work.

If there were anyone else avable, Yu Qing wouldn’t want to work with someone like this in a hundred, no, a thousand years.

"It will be ready soon, very soon!" Lin Beichen said hastily, blinking his blurry eyes and wishing he could press his face against theputer screen to scrutinize those confusing numbers closely.

Chen Changqing, covered with a nket in his director’s chair, seemed to be asleep. Yet at the slightest noise, he immediately woke up.

    Chen Changqing’s face looked terrible.

His gamble with Bai Xiaosheng this time had escted to a level he had not anticipated. At first, he took it as a game, hoping to crush this peer for fun. Then, due to Lin Weiwei’s incident, he felt humiliated, and hispetitive spirit soared. Even then, he never contemted the possibility of defeat.

Untilst night, when he attended that event and saw the other side’s great sess, the word "defeat" shed in his mind for the first time, sending a chill through him.

    "How could I lose!"

Chen Changqing’s eyes narrowed as if murmuring to himself in a dream, "Bai Xiaosheng, you’re just someone who wed up from a smallpany. How dare you beat me?!"

With that, Chen Changqing abruptly stood up, his gaze sharp as he looked towards Yu Qing, Murong Yan, and Lin Beichen.

"Aren’t you done yet?! So slow! Hurry up and get a move on!"

    ...

Early in the morning, Wang Hui, Director of the Online Game Operations Department, sauntered leisurely towards his office.

Usually, he was the first to arrive, opening the door for the deputy director. Thinking about his status as a director and now reduced to door-opening duties, he felt extremely frustrated.

"When will thispetition end? Just finish it already. No matter who wins or loses, I wish Mr. Chen would just leave soon and vacate my turf," Wang Hui grumbled, looking rather resentful.

Now, he was as miserable as Lin Beichen, having be a director with neither power nor a ce to call his own.

Speaking of Lin Beichen, Wang Hui felt nothing but hatred.

He had heard that it was this bastard who had initially picked out the games for Mr. Chen.

"Damn you, Lin Beichen, I’ll never share the sky with you, you son of a bitch, why don’t you just die!" Wang Hui muttered curses under his breath and then took out his keys to open the door.

    And then, the door opened.

A face appeared right in front of him, nearly scaring Wang Hui to death.

It was Lin Beichen, the very person he’d just cursed!

Normally, being caught cursing someone would be embarrassing and shocking enough.

But Lin Beichen’s face now was as pale as a corpse’s, his skin waxen-yellow, his eyes lifeless, staring as though he’de back from the dead.

Wang Hui caught a nce of this and nearly let out a howl, stepping back involuntarily until his spine was pressed against the partition of his desk.

    "You, you, you..."

Wang Hui eximed in terror, unable to finish his sentence.

Lin Beichen didn’t even nce at him but took off running towards the bathroom.

Wang Hui watched in a state of shock as Lin Beichen disappeared in a sh.

He slept in the director’s office? He didn’t go homest night?

Wang Hui was filled with doubt and confusion, his gaze turning to the office, where he was slightly taken aback.

Mr. Chen stepped out, gave him a look, and silently walked away. After him came two assistants, stretching their backs, yawning, their faces showing fatigue, with dark circles under their eyes, as if they hadn’t slept all night.

However, Wang Hui clearly noticed a hint of relief in their expressions.

"Did they work overtimest night? What was there worth staying up for?" Wang Hui wondered, puzzled.

Changqing took the assistants back to the hotel where they were staying to freshen up.

After overtime work, they finally calcted their performance, including today and tomorrow, and found that they were still leading over the New Media Department!

    "I knew it, I wouldn’t lose!"

Walking on the street, Changqing curled his lips into a cold smile, "Bai Xiaosheng, you only know about the massive performance you’ve gained, but you have no clue about our situation! Rx, get all happy. In the end, I will make you cry!"

    At this moment.

Bai Xiaosheng sat in his own office, full of energy, enjoying the breakfast that Lin Weiwei had brought for him.

"It’s great to have a cafeteria in thepany, so convenient and economical." Bai Xiaosheng savored his meal contentedly and picked up his phone to check, "It’s about time, the email should have been sent, I should give Old Song a reminder."

Bai Xiaosheng cleared his throat, his face turning serious, and he started recording a voice message.

"Mr. Song, are you there, Mr. Song! Something’s happened! We’ve found some articles online, I’ve sent a copy to your email, please check it as soon as possible!"

Having spoken urgently, Bai Xiaosheng then rxed again, leisurely enjoying his breakfast, "Now, it’s Old Song’s move."

    ...

    The general manager’s office.

Song Changkong was holding a cup of milk, just settling down, preparing to take a break before starting his work. He never eats breakfast, only drinks a cup of milk to calm his mind.

As soon as he sat down, his phone started vibrating.

"Bai Xiaosheng?" Song Changkong nced at the caller, his expression shifting as he yed the voice message, listening to Bai Xiaosheng’s urgent voice.

    Articles? What articles?

Song Changkong opened his email skeptically, downloaded the mail, and casually clicked on an article to read.

Halfway through, Song Changkong’s expression darkened.
