Inside Loreia''s office, the managers were behind his desk. He was currently frowning.
Even a report that was laid in front of him, he wasn''t reading it at all. Instead, he tapped his fingers against the desk.
Just this morning, he received unexpected info. One of his best employees, Loreia, had suddenly quit working here.
"Just what the hell happened to her? She was one of my best workers!"
He leaned back, rubbing his forehead. Loreia had always been professional, dedicated, and reliable.
And then, to make things even worse, the two bastards, Galwin and Deon, were also missing.
The manager sighed, shaking his head. "Those two again, why am I not surprised?"
Unlike Loreia, Galwin and Deon were absolute garbage. They skipped work whenever they wanted and treated everyone around them like dirt.
They could do this because they had some family connections with the higher-ups, helping them to avoid consequences.@@@@
But even for those two idiots, something like this was too much. "Lazy bastards. Even if they were planning to slack off, they wouldn''t do it without at least coming up with a half-assed excuse."
His fingers tapped aggressively against the desk. "Irritating. Absolutely irritating."
One of his staff members suddenly raised his hand. "Manager, I think I know the reason."
The manager''s frown deepened as his eyes snapped toward the staff member. "What? You know what''s going on? Speak."
The employee shifted uncomfortably but nodded. "Well... it''s just a guess, but... yesterday was payday, right? And like usual, Deon and Galwin drank themselves stupid."
The manager sighed, shaking his head. "Yeah, I already knew that. Those bastards treat every payday like some damn festival. That might explain why they''re not here today."
The staff member hesitated. "But... there''s more."
The manager''s brow twitched. "More? What more?"
The employee licked his lips nervously. "Since they were drinking, they must have been wandering around, right? And... well..."
"Spit it out." The manager''s patience was wearing thin.
The staff member took a deep breath. "I think... because they were drunk, they might have run into Loreia. And knowing them... they might have done something."
The moment the words left his mouth, the manager knew what he meant and became angry. "Damn it."
He slammed his fist onto the desk, silencing the room. "To think those two dared to pull something like that—!"
Inside Loreia''s apartment, Lucius sat calmly, sipping his tea as he gazed at his sister. "Did you awaken your talent, sis?"
Loreia sighed and shook her head. "No. I''m one of those unlucky ones."
Lucius put down his teacup and sighed. "I see."
He leaned forward, resting his elbow on the table. "Then, do you know any locations where we can hunt beasts?"
Loreia raised her eyebrow. "You''re planning to hunt? Why? You''re already strong, aren''t you?"
Lucius smirked slightly. "That may be true, but in this world, my energy is drained. I need to regain my strength. The fastest way to do that is through beast cores."
Loreia sighed and pulled out her phone. She opened the map and showed them various beast-infested locations. "Alright, there are a few places nearby."
She pointed at the first two locations on the screen. "These two are C-Rank zones. They were usually used to train some new beast fighters."
Lucius nodded, then glanced at the next location. "And this one?"
Loreia then turned serious. "This is an A-Rank zone. It''s far more dangerous than the others. There were only a few who dared to come here."
Lucius smirked. "Perfect."
He turned toward Luna and Liora. "Go hunt some beasts in the A-Rank zone. Focus only on collecting beast cores. Don''t waste time on anything unnecessary."
Luna chuckled, placing a hand on her hip. "Oh? Sending us on a mission already? You really don''t waste time, Master."
Liora nodded with a slight smirk. "Understood. We''ll return with enough beast cores to be useful."
Loreia leaned back, folding her arms. "Hold on, are you sure about this? That place isn''t a joke. Even high-rank tamers don''t go in without a proper team."
Luna grinned. "Oh, big sister, you''re underestimating us."
Loreia rolled her eyes. "No, I just don''t want to hear later that you two got eaten by some oversized lizard."
Liora chuckled. "That won''t happen."
Lucius sighed, raising his hand. "Enough talk. Go."
Without hesitation, Liora and Luna moved. They immediately rode Loxen that had been summoned by Luna. Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire
Loreia watched as they prepared to leave. "Don''t die out there."
Luna grinned as she disappeared into the shadows. "No promises."
Lucius watched them leave and smirked. His hack points should be recovered anytime soon.
