Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Sealing Gate, No Passage Within or Without

    ?

Inside the church, the Hell Preachers were also hung on the walls, dead, of course, while the live ones were still left on the ground.

Out of fifty Hell Preachers, only three survived, the rest were all dead. If it hadn''t been for the timely rescue by the Evangelical Spirit Monsters, even those three would have perished.

As for Mayor Lawrence, the kid ran away. No one knows what method he used, but somehow, he managed to escape amidst the alien encirclement, an ability even the preachers didn''t possess. This was enough to prove that Mr. Mayor had truly sided with Hell, or else he had access to some high technology.

However, Qin Muye felt that, no matter how you looked at it, the possibility of him siding with Hell was much higher than stumbling upon high technology.

"Mr. Preacher, it''s our first meeting, I am Father Andrew." Qin Muye said with a smile, looking at the lead preacher whose skin had already been corroded clean by alien blood, even his skull was pitted and pockmarked. The nails had corroded to mere bits embedded in the skull, but even so, he hadn''t died and was very tenacious.

He must be the closest thing to the original in a weakened version, but these aliens were a bit overpowering. It seemed like the preachers were regenerating, but the strong acidic blood not only had the ability to corrode, blended with Hell Power it also inhibited regeneration, which is why these three preachers hadn''t recovered.

"Why did you order your subordinate red-robed followers to retreat?" asked the Preacher. "Because we can''t win, there''s no point in not retreating just to die." Qin Muye said uprightly. This was a very normal thing; he wasn''t from this world. Why should he fight to the death with the aliens just to die here as an unnamed hero? If it was truly for such a cause, he might as well have slit his own throat earlier. Where he died didn''t matter; why wait until he grew stronger to die?

"If we don''t stop these insectoid demons, the world will end! Can you bear that responsibility?" The Preacher''s tone was very calm, giving Qin Muye the impression that he''d been castrated of all emotions, dedicating everything to world peace.

"I can''t afford it, nor do I intend to take that responsibility. I didn''t release those things; why would their responsibility have anything to do with me?" Qin Muye retorted dismissively.

It wasn''t his mistake; why should he bear the responsibility? If that were really the case, then what about the murderers and horror monsters all around? He hadn''t seen the Hell Church or the Church Court take responsibility either.

Whoever develops, protects; whoever pollutes, cleans up.

As for the alien matter, he hadn''t benefited at all so far; to expect him to take responsibility was absurd. It wasn''t even his world. Why should he care about the fate of a strange world? The less he meddled in others'' business, the longer he''d live.No?v(el)B\\jnn

And the Iron Blood Warriors? Normal people couldn''t capture those if they tried; the Hell Church gave nothing in return yet wanted him to risk his life, providing his own rations to be cannon fodder, all for someone else''s benefit. Qin Muye was not that foolish.

"I understand. I will report this matter to the Hell Church and Church Court, and they will judge afterwards." The Preacher, who had understood Qin Muye''s selfish motives, didn''t argue because he knew it was pointless.

"Mmhmm, I have high hopes for you." Qin Muye didn''t care about the Preacher''s thoughts. Whether this guy could even make it back was still in question.

"Before that, I hope you can cooperate with me on some research, such as the true conditions of you Hell Preachers."

"You must be related to the Magic Cube in some way, or should I say, you are a knockoff version of the Hell Preachers. Does the Hell Church have high-ranking officials collaborating with the King of Hell Leviathan?"

As he spoke, Qin Muye began unfastening the other''s leather jacket, revealing a body covered with scars. Hell Preachers, after all, are synonymous with pain and torture. The transformation process must be excruciating, and from the looks of it, they used Iron Hooks. "That''s not for you to know." The Hell Preacher, naturally, wouldn''t disclose anything since it involved the secrets of the Hell Church.

"A portal to Hell is like a door; even if the door is sealed, there are still chimneys and windows

    to pass through."

"Moreover, they were intentionally summoned, equivalent to someone leading the way, so naturally, they could easily bypass the sealing and come out," the Preacher explained.

Listening to the Preacher''s explanation, Qin Muye found it somewhat unbelievable: "So, this means it''s designed to stop the gentleman but not the villain?"

It felt quite absurd to him; he had assumed it was some kind of high-class sealing, yet it turned out to be this.

Easily summoned, it seemed quite cheap.

The Preacher didn''t quite understand Qin Muye''s last phrase, but he got the gist, and

continued, "It''s not an easy feat, especially for those who have fallen to Hell and then returned. Since the establishment of the Hell Church, only twelve individuals have been

    discovered."

"The witch you mentioned is the thirteenth."

"The Hell Church has existed for three thousand years, and the number of those who have returned from Hell is just so few."

Qin Muye found this hard to believe; was it that they hadn''t found more or that there were

    indeed so few?

Yet, he believed the Preacher''s words; there might be more than thirteen but certainly not a great many. Otherwise, someone would have already achieved great exploits by now. Perhaps the founders of the Hell Church and the Church Court were those who returned from Hell; otherwise, they wouldn''t harbor such malice towards Hell.

"Alright, let''s leave it at that for now," Qin Muye sewed up the Preacher''s wound, concluding the day''s research on him.

How to put it-the structure of the Preacher was not much different from ordinary people; it was more about the integration of Hell Power granting him a robust body and the ability to manipulate iron chains and hooks. As for other aspects, they were just so-so.

But the side effects were rather significant, and along with being brainwashed, this resulted in his current personality and attitude. He was probably a Death Soldier... no, probably even unluckier than a Death Soldier, like a mindless weapon, faithfully executing the tasks assigned by the Hell Church.

The utilization of Hell Power was also quite crude, mitigated only because the power granted

by the King of Hell Leviathan was relatively ample. Plus, suffering as a medium provided a high degree of compatibility, which accounted for his considerable strength.
