At the time, you mentioned she was your private secretary. Why didn’t you bring her back when you returned to the Country?"


    Gu Zhizhou hadn’t expected Gu Moqian to suddenly bring up the private secretary. His expression froze for a moment, then he forced a slightly tense smile. "Miss Zhao is just my secretary.     The two walked out of the study together. After only a few steps, they saw Ji Wei dashing down the stairs in her slippers, her movements hurried and somewhat frantic.


    "What’s wrong?" Gu Moqian asked.


    Ji Wei stood there, dressed in freshly changed pajamas. Her damp hair hung loosely on her shoulders, and she seemed to be clutching something in her hand.

    It was Ji Wei’s first time using such a thing. In her past life, she hadn’t realized she was pregnant until severe morning sickness hit. She had gone straight to the hospital for confirmation, never needing to use a test stick.


    She wasn’t sure whether a faint line and a dark line indicated pregnancy, but she couldn’t contain her excitement, as the probability seemed high.


    Gu Moqian stared at the test stick in Ji Wei’s hand for a long while. His typicallyposed pupils were filled with shock, unable to immediately process this sudden development.

    Seeing Ji Wei wearing thin pajamas and barefoot in slippers, his brows furrowed slightly as he took her hand and began leading her upstairs.
