Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Great, it’s the Terminal

Having superpowers at the strength of 14 Stars is considered average in the interster world.
It’s the mostmon superpower level.
But...
Lou Yan Zhi, holding onto the cockroach’s antennae, stood silently as he watched Beastmen with superpowers no less than 14 Stars walk by him one after another.
"Am I still weak?" Xuan Jiu grinned as he passed by, casually raising a hand in greeting.
Looking at this fox, now at Fifteen Stars, Lou Yan Zhi curled his lips into a cold smirk.
At the same time, his gaze faintly swept toward Caicai, bouncing over with a giant leek in hand.
The tool Caicai brought out to restore superpowers.
It could help Xuan Jiu recover his abilities and even boost his strength ording to his talent.
Fifteen Stars wasn’t Xuan Jiu’s limit—it was only because of the restrictions on this Mist Continent.
In other words,
If Xuan Jiu were transported to the interster world, free of such constraints, his strength would grow even further.
At the very least, to Twenty Stars.
And myself...
Lou Yan Zhi nced at his own superpowers.
Unrestricted, his current superpowers stood at Twenty Stars as well.
"It’s nothing special," Lou Yan Zhi responded coldly, his gaze retracting from Xuan Jiu.
Seeing the indignant look on Xuan Jiu’s face,
Lou Yan Zhi chuckled. "Even if you reached Twenty Stars now, it’s useless—you could only kill some Insectoids at most."
"Against the Terminal, you’re out of your depth."
Someone who had already died at the hands of the Terminal would find it even harder to harm it again.
Hearing this, Xuan Jiu fell silent.
"Among all of you, the one capable of dealing with the Terminal..." Lou Yan Zhi’s gaze scanned the group.
Finally, his eyesnded on Ying, who was chewing on a slice of bread as he sat down for breakfast. "Him, perhaps."
"What about me?" Xiao Jinsheng asked.
"Didn’t you mention that your memory was altered by the Insect Brain?" Lou Yan Zhi replied. "If the Terminal uses those edited memories against you, mixing truth with lies, what would you do?"
Upon hearing this, Xiao Jinsheng also quieted down.
She had been provoked emotionally by Bai Yan before, giving the Insect Brain an opportunity to rewrite her memories.
It would be even easier for the Terminal to do the same.
"Still, it’s not like you can’t try," Lou Yan Zhi said, leaning casually against his Heavy Sword. "After all, you’ve got quite a few life-saving assets—Star System Map, Caicai, the Realm, and your unique constitution."
He did some quick mental calctions, his expression briefly shifting before stabilizing again. "To truly deal with the Terminal, maybe you’re the only viable option."
"Him too. He’d do slightly better," Lou Yan Zhi added, pointing at Ying, who was now on his twentieth piece of bread.
Sweeping his gaze over the other Beast Husbands, Lou Yan Zhi remarked, "As for you guys, you’re fine for killing Insectoids, but against the Terminal? You’re just cannon fodder."
With that, Lou Yan Zhi calmly withdrew his hand, mounted the cockroach, and prepared to take off. "This is boring. I’ll go check on the Insectoids."
As the cockroach carried him beyond the skies of Demon Territory, Lou Yan Zhi’s body trembled, unable to hold back the blood he coughed onto the creature’s back.
He raised a hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, looking back at thend beneath the Demon Territory. His brown eyes narrowed. "No calctions allowed? Could there really be some hidden identity at y?"
For Lou Yan Zhi, Xiao Jinsheng had not set up the Star System Map for surveince purposes.
She was still mulling over Lou Yan Zhi’s words.
And calcting thebat power of her side against the Terminal.
Dealing with the Terminal required a minimum superpower strength of Fifteen Stars.
It was naturally ideal to have everyone’s superpower levels raised to Fifteen Stars.
[Warning: Maic field interference detected in this area. Monitoring unavable.]
The voice of the Star System Map echoed in her mind.
When Xiao Jinsheng checked, she found the unmonitorable location to be Cloud Ind.
At that moment, on the map of the Mist Continent, only Cloud Ind—along with the camp established by the Insect Brain, which also possessed the Star System Map—remained inessible for monitoring.
The Mist Continent, Cloud Ind.
Fleeing from the Insectoids and for various reasons giving up binding themselves to the Intelligent Brain, humans were directly transported to Cloud Ind through the ck Mist.
Among the survivors, some of high strength and previouspetition experience, excitedly eximed upon seeing the environment of Cloud Ind, "It’s Cloud Ind! The Terminal must have saved us!"
"We’re saved!"
"Amazing! It’s the Terminal!"
"I knew it! The Terminal wouldn’t abandon us!"
Having escaped death, the group was moved to tears.
[Terminal: Greetings, survivors of the Mist Continent.]
"It’s the Terminal!" Cheers broke out from the crowd as they heard the familiar voice of the Terminal.
But soon, the Terminal’s words left them all frozen in shock.
[Terminal: Previously, I discovered a traitor among us.]
[Terminal: This traitor transmitted the coordinates of the Mist Continent to the cosmic Insect Race.]
[Terminal: You all have seen how terrifying the Insectoids can be.]
The Terminal let out a heavy, human-like sigh.
Even the dullest among them could sense something was wrong with the Terminal.
The Terminal’s voice grew weaker and weaker.
[Terminal: During the resistance against the Insectoids, I suffered an infiltration attack from this traitor.]
[Terminal: The traitor siphoned away my energy. I... can no longer support Cloud Ind, thisst line of defense for the Mist Continent.]
[Terminal: My apologies, everyone.]
[Terminal: I never imagined that I wouldn’t fall during a battle against the invading Insectoids, but at the hands of the traitor I protected and nurtured.]
[Terminal: I used thest of my energy to strike a deal with the traitor.]
[Terminal: The control of the Mist Continent will officially be handed over to the traitor, who ims to be the "World Consciousness," in exchange for a chance for all of you to gain entry to a new sanctuary.]
[Terminal: However, in this deal, the World Consciousness will only ept those chosen by it to enter its base.]
[Terminal: I’m sorry, all of you whom I sheltered. I... can’t hold on any longer.]
The signal cut in and out before finally dissipatingpletely.
The voice of the Terminal disappeared entirely.
Overhead on Cloud Ind, the protective white mist dispersed.
Groups of Insectoids that had lingered outside Cloud Ind, unable to invade due to its defenses, tore through the energy-depleted barriers and stormed in.
Soon, a Beastman had his head severed by a massive insect flying past.
Some fought back, but as fugitives already heavily injured, they struggled to contend with Insectoids of Eight or Nine Stars from Mist East, let alone these specialized Ten-Star insect swarms sent to breach Cloud Ind’s defenses.
Despairing cries and the grotesque sounds of blood sttering and bones being torn apart mingled into chaos.
Once tranquil and harmonious, Cloud Ind became littered with remains.
She... He... They—all of them,
Hade here with thest glimmering hope of survival,
Only to find even more powerful and crueler Insectoids awaiting them.
Soon, someone noticed a sphere of light following them.
This was one of the first females saved by the Terminal and brought to Cloud Ind.
Those who hadn’t chosen to bind themselves to the Intelligent Brain within the initial 24-hour window now found no such glowing light upon their bodies.
Someone followed the Intelligent Brain’s binding instructions, hastily bound to it, and initiated teleportation.
Just before a gigantic insect could swallow her whole, her figure vanished.
With an example set, others with glowing spheres followed suit, taking their chances by binding to the Intelligent Brain and teleporting.
But those from Mist East who had already given up their chance to bind to the Intelligent Brain once were killed by the Insectoids one after another.
Returning her attention to the Cloud Ind situation, Xiao Jinsheng beheld a hellishndscape of piled corpses and utter carnage.
