Chapter 1173: Chapter 1173: Someone Wants to Kill Xiang Yu
The matters of Holy Mouse Hall have been resolved, so the Hongmen essentially has no internal issues. However, Xiang Yu couldn’t shake off a strange feeling in his heart.
It was an indescribable feeling. He was now the Sect Leader of Hongmen, but he always felt as if something was amiss, unsure of where the problemy.
“Problem solved?” Yuan Huai approached upon seeing Xiang Yu return.
Xiang Yu nodded without speaking and then went back to his office.
Now that things at Hongmen were settled, the Qing Gang wouldn’t take any actions for the time being. Xiang Yu nned to stabilize things here a bit more before heading to City Six to deal with unresolved issues.
What was wrong with Commander Cao, and why was hisrade Qing Lang still alive? These questions troubled Xiang Yu deeply, and he had to get to the bottom of them.
Having nothing to do during the day, Xiang Yu went to bed at nine o’clock at night, and everyone else went to rest as well.
With Hongmen stabilized, Xiang Yu felt he hadn’t let Hong Jinbao down.
The ck night at Hongxing Vi was quiet, as if everything was calm, with no turmoil at all.
In the night, a shadow slowly approached Xiang Yu’s vi, appearing very familiar with the ce. He knew where the night guards were and where the cameras were, and skillfully avoided them all.
Arriving in front of the building, the shadow slipped into Xiang Yu’s vi and waited quietly by the door for a while, before heading upstairs.
The shadow skillfully entered the room where Xiang Yu was sleeping and drew a shiny dagger from his waist.
He slowly approached Xiang Yu, and just as he was a meter away, he suddenly lunged at Xiang Yu.
The posture indicated an intent to kill in one strike.
Just when the dagger was about to reach Xiang Yu’s neck, Xiang Yu suddenly kicked out at the assant.
The assant was caught off guard by a kick to the chest and fell two meters away. The shadow thought Xiang Yu was awake, and ran towards the window.
As he was about to jump out the window, he suddenly noticed Xiang Yu hadn’t moved at all.
Turning back, he saw Xiang Yu was sleeping soundly.
“Somnambulism?” the shadowed man thought, then climbed back in through the window and approached Xiang Yu again.
Xiang Yu indeed hadn’t woken up. The man, his gaze turning cold, stealthily brought the dagger closer to Xiang Yu’s neck.
Sure enough, Xiang Yuy there without moving. The man was overjoyed, and just as the dagger was about to touch Xiang Yu, he thrust it fiercely downward.
At the crucial moment, Xiang Yu rolled his body, avoiding the dagger, and again kicked the man, striking him squarely in the head.
He kicked the man in ck aside, and at the same time, a shiny dagger appeared in Xiang Yu’s hand, which he swung towards the man in ck.
The man in ck was shocked, quickly dodging while swinging his own dagger toward Xiang Yu’s head.
Xiang Yu instinctively dodged and then sat up with a start.
Xiang Yu’s dagger sliced the man’s shoulder and pinned to the wall.
Seeing Xiang Yu awake, the man in ck hesitated no more and directly jumped out the window.
At this moment, Xiao Xuan and Tie Zhuzi burst in from outside. Seeing the room in disarray and a dagger stuck in the wall beside Xiang Yu, they understood immediately.
Xiao Xuan didn’t stop and leapt straight out the window, while Tie Zhuzi looked around the room to ensure there was no danger before approaching Xiang Yu’s bed.
Xiang Yu was groggily awakening at this point.
“What are you doing in my room?” Xiang Yu said groggily.
“Bro, someone tried to assassinate you,” Tie Zhuzi said seriously.
Xiang Yu wasn’t surprised, still appearing half-asleep, nodding, and said, “Tell Xiao Xuan not to chase.”
“Yu, weren’t you awake just now?” Tie Zhuzi asked in surprise.
“I was asleep,” Xiang Yu nced around before pushing Tie Zhuzi away and continued to sleep.
Tie Zhuzi: “…”
Seeing Xiang Yu lie down again, Tie Zhuzi shut the door and windows before leaving.
As he came out, he saw Xiao Xuan leading people in a search.
“Yu said not to investigate,” Tie Zhuzi said.
“Is he alright? I’ll go check on him,” Xiao Xuan said, ready to head upstairs.
“Yu is asleep, be careful,” Tie Zhuzi warned.
Xiao Xuan coughed lightly and said, “I’ll leave it until tomorrow then.”
They both knew how dangerous Xiang Yu was while sleeping, but apparently, the assassin did not.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan stayed awake all night, guarding outside Xiang Yu’s building. Tie Zhuzi at the front, and Xiao Xuan at the back.
The next day, Xiang Yu woke up early to exercise, with Yuan Huai beside him.
Yuan Huai’s body had mostly recovered, and returning to peak condition was just a matter of time.
“Be careful these days,st night was dangerous,” Yuan Huai said.
“There are many people who want to kill me; these few don’t matter,” Xiang Yu said calmly.
Yuan Huai was used to Xiang Yu’s attitude. Seeing the scars on Xiang Yu’s body, he knew Xiang Yu had been through life’s storms, so this detached view of life and death was normal.
“There’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you,” Yuan Huai looked at Xiang Yu and said, “Where did you learn this set of martial arts? I feel like my strength increases daily.”
“Self-taught,” Xiang Yu replied casually.
Seeing Xiang Yu didn’t want to say more, Yuan Huai didn’t press on and continued exercising with him.
After exercising, at nine in the morning, Xiang Yu gathered everyone together.
There were Tie Zhuzi, Xiao Xuan, Jin Guozhong, Leng Chan, Tao Dachang, and Yuan Huai.
“You all heard what happenedst night, right? Who do you think wants to kill me?” Xiang Yu calmly drank his water.
Jin Guozhong spoke first, “Yesterday, most Holy Mouse Hall members had already disbanded and gone home. Some joined us, and a part is missing.”
Jin Guozhong paused and continued, “I suspect these people are involved.”
“I agree,” Tao Dachang quickly added, “the Holy Mouse Hall members are a bunch of scumbags; we shouldn’t spare them.”
Everyone was a bit surprised when Tao Dachang, usually quiet, expressed his opinion.
“Holy Mouse Hall is part of our Hongmen. The members are our brothers; we shouldn’t see them through tinted sses. Guozhong, remember to treat those who joined your enforcement team well,” Xiang Yu said sternly to Jin Guozhong.
If this isn’t handled properly, it could nt hidden dangers within Hongmen.
“I understand, don’t worry, Sect Leader,” Jin Guozhong said.
Everyone shared their views, while Leng Chan sat silently throughout.
“Do you have anything to say?” Xiang Yu asked Leng Chan.
Everyone’s gaze turned to Leng Chan at once…
