The sounds of violent banging echoed through the enclosed room.


    Despite the nurses'' best efforts to hold him down, Fermin pounded the bed in agony.


    "Strap him down," ordered the doctor.


    The nurses quickly bound Fermin to the operating table.


    Behind the one-way mirror, Bert watched with pain. His hand gripped his cane tightly.


    Electroshock therapy was one of the most dangerous treatments. But it was the only way to make Fermin believe he was dead, allowing his personality to enter a dormant state.


    "Sir, maybe we should leave for now," the butler suggested, unable to watch any longer.


    "I can''t, not when Fermin is still inside," Bert replied, his voice heavy.


    He didn''t want Fermin to suffer or go out to hurt others.


    "Fermin!" Liza stumbled down the stairs, nearly falling in the process.


    Several servants, who were chasing after her, stopped at the entrance since they were not allowed in there.


    They had sealed off the elevator, but Liza, in her desperation, had chosen to take the emergency stairwell.


    "What''s going on here?" the butler demanded sternly.


    Liza spotted Fermin being electrocuted through the mirror. Her face immediately paled.


    "Dad, what are you doing? Let him go."


    "You shouldn''t be here. Go back."


    Liza froze at his harsh tone. In the past, whenever she whined a little, Bert would grant her every request. This time, however, he rejected her tly.


    She refused to leave. Fermin had pampered her since they were kids. She couldn''t just sit by when he was suffering like that.


    Without hesitation, she rushed into the room. Some cool air followed her inside.


    She pushed past the doctor and nurses, knocking their shock equipment out of their hands.


    She threw herself onto Fermin''s bed, holding him tight. "If you''re going to shock him, shock me first."


    The doctor and nurses didn''t dare intervene.


    Fermin opened his eyes and reached out for her hair. He sounded confused. "Liza? What are you doing here?"


    Liza stared at him, her nerves on edge. "Are you feeling unwell? Tell me."


    Fermin took a deep breath and rubbed his temples. "Yeah, my head hurts so much. Did we get captured for some kind of experiment?"


    He nkly looked around the sealed room.


    "Sir, the therapy worked," the butler eximed, his voice shaking with joy.


    "Get Liza out of here," Bert said, frowning at the scene.


    "But Mr. Fermin Eaton..."


    "Observe him for a few more days."


    Bert knew Fermin well. This sudden awakening could be just a show.


    It was best to wait and observe.
