Chapter 178

She nced over at Franklin, who was sitting quietly nearby, watching them. "Dad, I want to eat here. Can we have the food packed and brought here?"

    Franklin agreed, "Alright."

Isabe smiled happily and continued clinging to Maggie.

Old Madam Miller and Old Madam Wilson still had plenty to talk about.

Maggie sat quietly, asionally chiming in with a sentence here and there.

After a while, Isabe, feeling tired, asked, "Mom, when will you be done with work?"

Maggie didn''t want Old Madam Miller to overhear, so she picked Isabe up and sat down on the sofa in the ward before answering, "I''m not sure, but if nothing unexpected happens, I''ll be even busier." "What?" Isabe was taken aback and looked disappointed.

"Then when will you have time to take me skiing?" She had remembered this.

Maggie thought for a moment and said, "Next month."

    "Really?"

"Yes," Maggie nodded. "When I have time, I''ll let you know."

    "Okay!" Isabe cheered up again.

Then she suddenly remembered what happenedst night and quickly asked, "By the way, Mom, did you go shoppingst night?"

Maggie paused for a moment but then answered, "Yes."

"Ah? So the person I sawst night really was you?"

    "Maybe," Maggie replied.

Just then, she noticed Franklin was looking at her from the side.

It had been a while since Isabe had gone shopping with Maggie. Although there was a period when she found it boring just to walk around, now thinking back, she really missed it.

She said, "Next time when you''re free, can you take me shopping again? And we can go to the game center and y bumper cars."

Maggie withdrew her gaze and replied, "Okay."

Isabe continued talking, but at that moment, Franklin picked up the cup of water that Maggie had been drinking from, poured out the now-cold water, and refilled it with warm water. He ced the cup on the coffee table in front of her.

Maggie nced at it and softly thanked him.

    Franklin nodded. "You''re wee."

He then casually sat down on the nearby sofa.

Old Madam Wilson and Old Madam Miller were still chatting happily, but when they saw the three of them sitting together, Old Madam Wilson paused and stopped the conversation.

Old Madam Miller followed her gaze but didn''t show any reaction, then turned her attention back to the

    conversation.

Old Madam Wilson sighed, "You say-"

"Since they''ve made a decision, we shouldn''t force them," Old Madam Miller said.

Hearing this, Old Madam Wilson sighed again.

A short timeter, the meal Franklin had ordered arrived.

It was arge table full of dishes, obviously enough for more than just two people.

Franklin turned to Maggie and said, "Let''s eat together."

Maggie noticed that half of the dishes were ones she liked to eat.

. Moreover, Franklin had made sure the dishes were ced on her side of the table.

Then, Franklin added, "Isabe, go call your great-grandmother toe eat." "Okay."

Isabe immediately slid off Maggie''sp and went to tug Old Madam Miller''s hand, asking her toe

    eat.

Old Madam Wilson then urged, "Come eat a little, otherwise I''ll feel embarrassed for asking you toe

    back tomorrow to apany me."

Old Madam Maggie had no choice but to walk over and sit at the table.

Seeing that all the dishes in front of Maggie were her favorites, Old Madam Miller paused for a moment and nced at Franklin. Maggie remained calm.

As she had thought, with Franklin''s memory, remembering these details wasn''t anything remarkable.

The reason he prepared all of this was probably just out of gratitude for theming to visit Old Madam Wilson. It didn''t mean anything more than that.

After dinner, Maggie and Old Madam Miller sat for over an hour before they prepared to leave.

As it was gettingte, Old Madam Wilson didn''t insist on keeping them any longer and said to Franklin, "You and Isabe should head home too."

"Alright," Franklin replied, "I''lle to see you tomorrow morning."

Maggie, Franklin, and the others left the hospital together.

Once in the elevator, Franklin asked, "Did you drive here yourself?"

    "Yes," Maggie answered.

Franklin didn''t say anything else, but Isabe, who had been quiet, suddenly remembered something and asked, "Mom, are you not going home tonight?"

Maggie replied, "I''ll be taking Grandma back home, and I''m staying over at her ce, so I won''t be going

    back."

"I want to stay at Grandma''s house too!" Isabe quickly said.

Although Isabe was closer to Franklin now, to Old Madam Miller, Isabe would always be Maggie''s daughter.

Before Maggie could answer, Old Madam Miller smiled gently and said, "Alright, alright."

Seeing how Old Madam Miller was speaking, Maggie didn''t feel like refusing, but she still reminded Isabe, "You don''t have any change of clothes at Grandma''s house."

Before Isabe had left for overseas with Franklin, she used to visit Maggie''s family frequently. Back then, half of the wardrobe in Maggie''s room was filled with clothes that she and her Aunt Helen had prepared for Isabe.

But since Isabe hadn''t been back to Maggie''s ce as much over the past two years, and she had grown so quickly, Maggie and Aunt Helen hadn''t bought her new clothes as often. Now, there were no suitable clothes for her at Miller''s house. "Ah?" Isabe pouted, looking disappointed. "Then-"

Just then, Franklin spoke up. "I''ll call and have someone deliver some clothes over."
