Chapter 185

As Maggie drove the car, not long after leaving the hospital, Grandman Miller seemed to remember

something and suddenly said, "Franklin arrived at the hospital, but what about Isabe? Where did she go?"

Before Maggie could respond, Grandma Miller''s expression darkened.

Maggie could tell from her expression that she was unhappy with how Franklin had left Isabe behind, ing to the hospital with Julia instead.

"He will arrange things properly," Maggie said.

But Grandma Miller didn''t seem to believe it. She said, "If he continues like this, Mag, you should file awsuit. No matter what, you must get custody of Isabe!" Maggie paused for a moment before calmly replying, "Alright."

Grandma Miller was still not happy.

Once they returned to the Miller family home, Grandma Miller was the first to get out of the car.

At this moment, Maggie''s phone rang.

    It was Isabe calling.

    Maggie didn''t answer.

Perhaps because she had spent so little time with Isabe in the past few months and hadn''t answered

her calls, she could clearly feel that Isabe had be clingier than before.

It was as if she was trying to return to when she had been the only one taking care of her.

    Her phone rang again.

Maggie nced at it, but still didn''t answer. Instead, she turned off her phone and went into the house to join the family for dinner.

But just as she sat down, the house phone rang.

Maggie almost immediately guessed who was calling.

She quickly stood up. "I''ll take the call."

She walked quickly out of the living room.

As expected, it was Isabe on the other end of the line.

Hearing her voice, Isabe happily called out, "Mom!"

Maggie responded and asked, "Have you eaten?"

"Not yet," Isabe replied in a slightly sulky voice. "Mom, are you at Grandma''s house? I want toe over too. Can you eat with meter?"

Grandma Miller, hearing this, looked over and asked, "Is that Isabe on the phone?"

    Maggie could only answer, "Yes."

"Does Isabe miss you?" Grandma Miller put down her bowl and walked over. "If she wants toe over, quickly contact Franklin and have someone bring her here. We''ll save some food for her." Maggie said, "... Understood."

She then spoke to Isabe, "Alright,e over now."

    "Okay!"

Before hanging up, Maggie remembered something and added, "Tell your dad before youe over."

    "Got it."

The Miller family was waiting to continue eating until Isabe arrived.

Maggie told them not to wait for her.

About an hourter, Isabe arrived at the Miller family home.

As soon as she entered, she ran toward Maggie. "Mom! I''m back!"

"Mm." Maggie adjusted her clothes and said calmly, "Let me reheat your food."

    "Okay!"

Isabe put down her little backpack and tablet and followed Maggie into the kitchen.

Jason and his wife had taken Xavier and the others to school, while Grandma Miller was still at home.

Seeing Isabe stick to Maggie like a little tail, Grandma Miller smiled happily and didn''t disturb them as they reunited

Maggie asked Isabe to wait outside.

Isabe obediently sat in the dining room while Maggie brought her the reheated food.

Isabe was actually a picky eater, and reheated food never tasted as good as freshly made dishes. Today, however, she wasn''t picky and ate happily.

While eating, she shared a funny story with Maggie. "Mom, today I went out to y with Uncle He and

    Daisy.*

    "Mm." Maggie replied.

After finishing her sentence, Isabe seemed to realize that Maggie might not know who Daisy was, so *she exined. "Daisy is my friend. She calls Uncle Uncle Harry."

"Mm." Maggie answered, noticing how eager she was to share. She asked, "What did you guys do?"

"We went to explore a maze."

Maggie listened without much reaction, but Grandma Miller''s expression darkened.

Previously, when Franklin had taken Isabe back, Grandma Miller thought he would personally take

    care of her.

Now, she realized that not only was he not taking care of her, he was too busy with Julia to do so and had even handed the responsibility over to someone else instead of letting Maggie take care of Isabe. Her face became very unpleasant.

Isabe didn''t know what was going through Grandma Miller''s mind. She continued, "Uncle Harry invited me to have dinner with them, but I wanted toe back and eat, so I called you." "Mm.*

Maggie asked softly, "Did you thank Uncle Harry?"

    Maggie didn''t ask any further.

After finishing her meal, Isabe stayed in the living room to apany Maggie and Grandma Miller.

Grandma Miller sat next to Isabe and asked, "Would you like to stay at Grandma''s house for a little

    longer?"

Before Maggie could respond, Isabe happily said, "Sure!"

Grandma Miller continued, "Since you agreed to stay with Grandma, you can''t go back on your word. You''ll stay at least for a week."

    "Okay!"

    Maggie frowned.

Grandma Miller was very happy and lovingly patted Isabe''s hand.

As Isabe lowered her head to y games, Grandma Miller spoke to Maggie. "A child raised by you is different. No matter what, Isabe still clings to you." Maggie listened and just smiled.

Isabe came over and asked Maggie to y games with her.

Maggie looked at her and said, "Are you sure?"

She felt that Isabe might agree easily now, but in two or three days, she might regret it and want to go back to Franklin and Julia.

    Isabe didn''t react at first.

Two secondster, she realized what Maggie meant and said; "Of course, I''ve already promised Grandma."
