Divorce LONG 282

“Have you heard about the contract termination between Cole and Wilson Tech?”

“Are you aware that your student, Johnny, has be increasingly arrogant and morallypromised–blinded by infatuation, unable to distinguish right from wrong?”

These were the words Rex wanted to say.

But just as they were about to leave his mouth, he caught a glimpse of Franklin out of the corner of his eye–and the words died in his throat.

After all, all of this… was Julia’s matter.

And now that both Julia and Franklin were present, Rex no longer had the standing to speak on it.

If he were to step in and bring this up in front of everyone, it would be no different from exposing his personal feelings for Julia–and more importantly, potentially embarrassing her.

That would only cause her trouble.

Realizing this, his attention shifted to Mr. Alison standing off to the side.

He knew who Mr. Alison was, of course.

Now that it was confirmed that Wilson Tech and Cole had officially terminated their partnership, and Julia and Franklin were having lunch with Mr. Alison…

It wasn’t hard to piece together what this meant.

Alison Group was undoubtedly the best choice for Wilson Tech after leaving Cole.

Clearly, Franklin was going out of his way for Julia.

Since Julia already had a new path forward, and Johnny was bing more and more reckless and out of touch, her distancing herself from them might actually be for the best.

Given that, there was really nothing left for him to say to Nn.

With that realization, Rex offered a briefment to Nn:

“It’s nothing. Sorry to bother you.”

Johnny knew exactly what Rex had been nning to say.

    99.6%

With a hint of mockery, he smiled and said,

“I thought you came in all riled up just toin about me to my teacher.”

Johnny’s sarcasm, in Rex’s eyes, was nothing short of smug arrogance and totalck of remorse.

And seeing him like this–Rex felt Johnny was even more despicable than he’d thought.

He used to think it was a pity that someone like Johnny would fall like this.

    But now?

Now he saw clearly–Johnny was chasing his own downfall, willingly.

And since he was dragging Maggie down with him, why should he be the one to try and stop it?

At this point, Rex no longer cared to continue the conversation.

With an indifferent tone, he said, “You’re overthinking it, President Gray.”

Johnny couldn’t be bothered to respond.

He turned to Nn and Maggie and said, “Teacher, let’s go.”

Maggie nodded and looked at Nn, saying gently,

    “Teacher, this way.”

When she addressed Nn as “Teacher,” both Rex and Julia were momentarily stunned.

They thought she was shamelessly echoing Johnny and calling Nn “Teacher” without any actual qualification.

Even so, hearing her say it still made them ufortable–like her voice had tainted Nn’s good name.

After they parted ways and Nn got in his car and left, Johnny turned to Maggie and grumbled:

“Rex is such a dumbass. I seriously regret giving Reed any face and agreeing to work with that idiot. Just thinking about future coborations gives me a headache.”

Maggie rubbed her temples, echoing his frustration.

“So should we have Manager Lane handle him from now on?”

    Johnny: “A hundred percent yes!”

Maggie chuckled softly and headed back to the office with him.

As soon as they stepped out of the elevator and were about to enter thepany, Maggie’s phone rang.

    It was Franklin.

    She didn’t answer.

Johnny noticed the shift in her expression and instantly guessed who the caller was.

Once the buzzing stopped, Maggie was just about to talk to Johnny about the next day’s work schedule–when her phone pinged with a new text.

    Also from Franklin:

“I’m going on a business trip tomorrow. Isabe wants to be with you. Can you take care of her during the holiday?”

Johnny nced at the message content and scoffed coldly:

“Just like during New Year–he’s probably dragging Julia along on the trip again. And now he wants to dump the kid on you so he can enjoy his little romantic getaway?”
