Chapter 457

---- Chapter 347 There was still urgent business at thepany, so Logan was called away by a phone call. Julia looked visibly unsettled. Janice suspected that it wasn''t just Maggie''s dazzling performance at the press conference that had shaken her-something else must''ve happened. She asked, "At the press conference, what was Franklin''s attitude toward Maggie?" Julia lowered her eyes. "Admiration." Janice''s expression darkened.

In the past, Franklin had always ignored Maggie, never seeing her as anything noteworthy. Not once had he ever shown the slightest appreciation. But now- "Those technologies Maggie talked about at the press conference... do you really think she developed them herself?" ---- Though Janice hadn''t interacted with Franklin often, she had heard enough from her daughter to know that he was well-versed in tech and held a deep respect for people with real technical skills.

If Maggie truly had such abilities, it would make sense for someone like Franklin to change his stance and begin to admire her. Before Julia could respond, Sophia jumped in anxiously, "That''s impossible! She''s just an undergrad-how could she have that kind of capability? It must''ve been Johnny-" But Julia interrupted her quietly, "It probably was her." Sophia stared in disbelief. "That''s not possible!

How could she-" Yet Maggie had skipped three grades and was admitted to A University, the top school in the country. Sophia had skipped grades too and had attended a well-known university herself, but it still didn''tpare to A University. Which meant, if Maggie wanted to pursue research, she certainly had the foundation to do so.

So even if Julia didn''t want to admit it, deep down she couldn''t ---- deny that both the groundbreaking paper Maggie had published and the technologies she presented today might really have been her own work. Janice hade to the same realization. Back then, Maggie''s academic brilliance had put a great deal of pressure on Julia.

Clenching her fists, Julia murmured, "If that work wasn''t truly hers, would she have dared to im it so openly?" Sophia disagreed, snapping, "She''s shameless-what wouldn''t she dare to do?" But both Janice and Julia chose to ignore herment. Julia pressed her lips together. "I just don''t understand..." Maggie may have entered university early, but during her college years, she hadn''t made any notable achievements.

She''d graduated with just a bachelor''s degree, married, had a child, andter joined the Wilson Group. With that kind of life path, how could she possibly have such extensive research knowledge now? ---- Janice had thought of that too. Sensing what her daughter was struggling with, she waited until Sophia left the room and said gently, "Even if Maggie''s skills are real, your bond with Franklin runs deep. It''s not something that can be easily shaken. And besides, you have your own strengths.

So, Julia, don''t worry too much." Don''t worry? Julia said nothing. Even though Franklin had acted calm after the press conference, even treating her the same as always, she couldn''t shake the feeling- Was he really as unaffected by Maggie as he appeared? She thought of how, not long ago, Franklin had deliberately collected the research papers Maggie had rmended to the Wilson Group''s tech staff. And suddenly, there was that sharp feeling again. Like a thorn lodged in her throat. If he were truly that calm, then after the press conference, ---- why hadn''t he mentioned a single word about what happened there?
