<h4>Chapter 199: Chapter 199</h4>
[ALPHA DOMINIC’s Point of View]
“I need you to transfer the curse to me, Samantha. I have to do it for the kids.”
I looked at her with resolve in my eyes, staring at my wife without blinking. I knew she was skeptical about what might happen, but we had no choice. And above all, we had not enough time to think about any other options anymore.
“I don’t know how to do it, Dominic!” she answered in panic; her eyes were wide as she stared back at me with tears streaming down her beautiful face. “I have no idea what to do!”
“You said you just follow your wolf’s instinct.” I said it to her, my voice shaking, but I refused to break in a situation like this. Devon and Diana had to survive. We had no idea what had happened to the twins, but after I saw the ck veins spreading from their necks down to their bodies, I became certain that the curse was slowly taking over them, and I would never let anything like that happen! I would give them my life if I had to!
With my heart breaking piece by piece, I gently grabbed my wife from the back of her neck and then pulled her to touch my forehead against hers. I murmured with a pleading, hoarse voice, feeling as if my throat was slowly constricted by the pain of not knowing what would happen next. If I were to survive the decision I was about to make. “We have to do this, my love.”
I swallowed hard and then filled my lungs with air as I continued. “Listen to me, Samantha. I need to do this; do you understand? There’s no other way. We need to do this, or we will lose Diana and Devon... I will be alright, my love.” Tears rolled down my face as I kissed her lips and then gently pushed her away so I could look into her eyes. “I will be alright.”
“I-I’m scared, Dominic—”
“I am scared too!” I said to her as tears started to stream down my face, which I failed to hold back. Richard Bet had already disappeared, as had Olivia, and we had to get out before the ck smoke smothered us all to death. But we couldn’t leave with the children still unconscious. We had no idea what happened to them behind the altar, and the only way to save them was for me to take the curse from them, or they would both be consumed by it or—
No. I won’t let my pups get killed here. I would f*cking burn the whole world if this happened.
“NOW!!!”
Samantha let out a groan and sobbed as she gripped my wrist and then put her hand over the twins. I watched with wide, terrified eyes how the ck fume seeped out of Devon and Diana, making the ck veins in their small bodies slowly alleviate until they totally disappeared.
I heaved out a breath and then saw how the curse transferred to my wife, turning her veins ck until it ran down her hand and then passed it to me.
My vision suddenly became blurry. I felt the pain surge in my veins as they bulged ck and then spread little by little until my whole left arm was filled with a web of poisons.
Incredible pain—excruciating and unexinable kind of pain—started to overwhelm my senses. My muscles tightened all over my body, and my teeth ground against each other as veins began to show on my forehead, as I suppressed myself not to scream.
No.
I had to endure it!
Samantha’s eyes widened, and I knew right away that she was about to let go of my wrist and had no n of finishing that transfer, but I wouldn’t let her! I grabbed her wrist despite the mind-numbing pain and then red at her fear-stricken face. I snarled, “No. I won’t let you take part in this, Samantha. I won’t let you suffer this pain!”
“But Dominic,” she cried as she stared back at me with pleading eyes, “You will die!”
“Then I will die protecting you and the kids!”
She burst into tears and cried loudly while gripping my wrist tighter, which finalized the transfer of the curse to me. I thought I was going to faint, but Samantha caught me when I was about to fall to the ground and embraced me tightly. It was her warmth that kept me awake and never let the pain and the curse sumb me into darkness.
“Dominic!? Dom—”
Her voice began to echo in my mind, but it resonated so distantly in my ears that all I could hear was the slow beating of my heart and a ringing tline.
Until everything went ck.
Was it the end for me?
*****
There was a pitting pain in my stomach, giving me the urge to throw up.
BLARRGHHH!!!
All I felt was this stiffening pain all over my body, the head-splitting ache, and then the cramping of my stomach. I groaned as I felt the soft bed against my back, confused about where I was and what happened.
I panted. Blinked. Everything was a blur as I slowly opened my eyes and saw the faint light that pierced through the open window. The curtains were dancing from the soft breeze of the winding from the outside and when I looked up, I knew I was somewhere familiar after seeing the white ceiling with the family symbol of my n.
This was my mother’s room.
I was in my mother’s room.
Panic suddenly surged in my aching head as I bolted awake, filling my lungs with more air. My back and shoulder were still as hell and I had to shake my head a little after I felt the sudden dizziness of abruptly sitting up.
“Samantha!” I murmured under my breath as I tried to get off the bed and then leaned against the wall to support my still poor bnce. How long was I out? How did we get back from the Silver Crescent pack?
“Where is my wife!” I yelled for anyone to hear. “Where are Devon and Diana!”
“You Grace—”
One of the elders who was close to my mother entered the room. I never expected his presence because all I knew was he travelled to another continent for some business meetings months ago.
“Julius, what the—”
“Calm down, Dominic,” he said gently and then asked me to sit down on a chair he pulled for me. “You are still in pain. You are not fully recovered yet.”
I frowned, confused. “What is happening? How did I get here? Where are Samantha and the kids, Julius! And why am I in my mother’s room?!”
He sat down in front of me with a grave expression on his face. He sat there and stared for seconds as if figuring out how to tell things to me. Like he was worried, and that made me scared about what really happened.
“TEL ME G*DD*MNIT!”
It seemed he had no intention of telling me anything, so I decided to just go and stormed outside the room. When I got to the door, I was surprised that it was all locked up.
“What is the meaning of this, Julius!? Why did you lock me up here?” I snarled at the old man and then red, “What the f*ck is happening in this ce?!”
“It is better for you to just stay here, son—”
The f*ck I would stay in that room when I had no idea if my wife and children were safe!
I had to find my Beta! I had to find Liam!
Despite still feeling weak, I kicked the thick wooden door with all the strength that was still left in me and left Julius with his mouth gaping in shock.
The Gamma guards started to stop me from marching down the hallways straight to the throne room, where I felt a familiar presence lingering on my throne.
The Alpha wolf in me was in rage as soon as I opened the door and saw who was sitting therezily on the chair that was supposed to be mine!
“DOMINIC!”
Everyone in the room stood from their seats and turned their heads towards me as soon as I mmed the door open. Murmurs and gasps filled the throne room as they all stared at me with fear and shock.
All the elders and council were there, including Liam, who stood there beside the throne with his hands sped together behind him. His face was paper-white, pale as soon as his eyes met mine.
And there, on my f*cking throne, sat the biggest *sshole!
KILLIAN!
He gave me a threatening look on his face as he red down at me with contempt in his eyes. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but my Alpha wolf was so threatened by his presence. Why was he sitting on my chair as the Alpha of the pack!? What happened while I was out and unconscious?!
“Dominic.”
All the tension in my body was released when I saw Samantha approaching me with swift steps. I opened my arms to embrace her as soon as she threw her arms around my neck and embraced me back, tight and steady.
I whispered in her neck as I kissed her. “What is happening here, my love? Why is Killina sitting on my f*cking chair?”
“Many things happened, my love, but I need you to calm down,” she whispered back, her body shaking, letting me know that there was something awful that had happened in the Silver Crescent pack. “Please, trust me with this.”
I never liked what was happening, but I trusted my wife, and so I tried my hardest to calm down. I was shocked to see that Killian’s eyes were no longer glowing purple. Was his curse finally gone? Was he cured?
Then I saw that strange ring on his finger. The same ring I saw thest time we fought with Richard Bete and his pack of shadow werewolves.
Samantha turned her eyes to the other side of the room, and my whole body stiffened after I saw that familiar figure hiding under the shadows.
It was Olivia with her evil smile ring back at me. She even waved at me and Samantha with that mocking grin on her face as she tilted her head to the side and then raised an eyebrow at us. I was so confused it brought a strange tight feeling in my stomach.
Could it be...
That’s when I understood what happened.
The Fang Trinity and the ck w had already invaded the Silver Crescent territory.
