My Dad Please Come 757

    Chapter 757

Wendy and Halsey arranged to meet at a fancy restaurant. They sattogether in a luxurious private room, and Halsey handed Wendy the menu.

“You waited at the courthouse all day–you must be starving. Go ahead and order whatever you want.”

Wendy didn’t hesitate. She flipped through the menu and picked out a few dishes.

“What exactly happened today? Why didn’t Stanley show up at the courthouse?” Halsey asked.

Wendy shook her head. “I don’t know. I called him, but he never answered.”

With a sharp p, Halsey pounded the table. “This is ridiculous! Stanley stood you up? I’ll call him right now to find out what’s going on!”

She immediately pulled out her phone and dialed Stanley’s number. The ringing tone sounded clearly, but no one picked up

Halsey sighed in frustration. “Why won’t he answer? What the hell is he doing today?”

Just then, the waiter brought their food, and Wendy quietly began to eat.

Halsey said, “Don’t worry! I’ll make sure Stanley gives you an exnation.”

Wendy was still puzzled by Stanley’s behavior. He was the one who wanted to get married, but he didn’t show up. Even if he was busy, he could have at least answered the phone or sent a message.

Halsey studied Wendy’s face. “I’m not trying to defend Stanley, but this isn’t like him. Maybe something happened to him.”

Wendy froze for a moment, the utensils in her hand halting mid–air.

    Something happened to Stanley…?

After waiting all day at the courthouse, feeling disappointed and down, the idea suddenly seemed possible.

Stanley was the kind of man who would talk to her if he changed his mind about getting married. This wasn’t his usual way of doing things.

Wendy looked at Halsey. “Besides, his phone has been unreachable all day. That almost never happens.”

She pulled out her phone. “I’m going to call the Hawk family’s old residence and check with Mrs. Ang and Be to see if he’s home.”

    Halsey nodded. “Good idea.”

    Wendy dialed the number.

Ang and Be were ying in the living room of the old family home. Be was bubbling with joy. “Grandma, Daddy and Mommy should be married by now, right?”

Ang smiled affectionately and kissed Be on the forehead. “Yes, they’re definitely married by now. From today onward, the three of you will always be together.”

Be, with a childlike innocence, corrected her, “Not three–four, actually.”

Ang blinked in surprise. “Four? Does that mean your mommy is expecting another baby?”

Be covered her mouth to hide a giggle. “No, she isn’t pregnant. mean the four of us includes you, Mrs. Ang!”

Ang was genuinely stunned. She hadn’t expected Be to mean her.

Be hugged Ang tightly. “Grandma, you, me, Daddy, and Mommy—we’re a family of four and we’ll never be apart. When I grow up, I’ll take good care of you.”

Ang’s heart melted at Be’s warmth. Her life had been lonely one failed marriage was enough to ruin her world. That unhappy engagement had marked the start of her painful journey. Her patience had been shaped by solitude; she was used to being alone.

But now, as she was held in Be’s small arms, hearing such heartfelt words about love and care, tears quickly blurred her eyes.

Healing wasn’t so hard after all. She had found love.

Ang hugged Be tightly. “I love you very, very much too…”
