My Dad Please Come 804

    Chapter 804

Gilbert’s subordinate stammered nervously, “W–We’ve done everything we can, but the cabpany has no record of this driver. His information ispletely nk.”

Gilbert couldn’t believe he wasn’t even able to track down a single driver on his territory. He snarled, “You’re useless!”

    Then, he hung up.

His mind shed back to Halsey’s beautiful face and the graceful way she moved on the dance floor earlier. The memory stirred a restless heat inside him. The more out of reach she was, the more he felt himself burning.

Halsey had already set his blood racing.

Gilbert pulled out his phone and dialed another number. Soon the call connected, and his mother Yvette came through.

    “Hello, Gilbert.”

“Mom, arrange a dinner with the Lincoln family tomorrow. Since the Lincoln and Greenwood families have an engagement agreement, we should sit down and discuss my marriage to Halsey”

“But it seems the Lincoln family doesn’t intend to let Halsey marry you.”

“Well, I’m going to marry her! I’ll only marry Halsey!”

As Gilbert was the only son of the Greenwood family, Yvette cared deeply for him and quickly softened.

“Alright. Don’t worry. I’ll reach out to the Lincoln family. Our families have been close for years, so I’m sure they’ll want to keep up appearances. We’ll get everyone together for a proper talk tomorrow.”

Gilbert felt a little better and hung up.

At that moment, a woman in heels approached. She was the bunny girl who had danced up against Gilbert’s leg earlier. Now, her face was bruised. She and Sienna had had a rough fight, but there was no clear winner. Both of them were just hurt.

By the time their scuffle ended, Gilbert was gone, chasing after Halsey.

The bunny girl’s eyes lit up. She was surprised to see him here. Stepping forward, she called out, “Gilbert…”

He looked up coldly. “Who are you?”

His face was indifferent. He clearly didn’t remember her.

The bunny girl froze for a moment, then forced a smile. “It’s me. I danced for your birthday tonight.”

    Gilbert nodded. “Sure.”

Her eyes sparkled. “Do you remember me now?”

He shook his head. “I don’t.”

    “Can you-”

Before she could say more, Gilbert mmed on the gas, and the Ferrari roared away.

The bunny girl was left coughing in a cloud of exhaust. The fight had been for nothing.

The cab pulled up at the Lincoln family’s vi. Halsey and Madeline stepped out.

Halsey asked Maddy with concern, “Are you okay? Were you scared?”

Madeline shook her head. “No. I’m okay.”

Halsey nced at the man in the driver’s seat. “Thanks for tonight How much do I owe you?”

She reached to pull out her wallet, but then realized she hadn’t brought her purse.

The man looked at her. “Don’t tell me you can’t pay me. I took you all around the Capital tonight.”

“I have money. I live here, so there’s no way I’m broke. I just didn bring my wallet. How about this–let me get your number. I’ll transfer the money to you,” Halsey suggested.

The man thought for a moment and then gave her his number. “Transfer the money to me. I’ll see you around.”

The man was about to drive off when Madeline ran up and called out to him.

    “Dwight!”
