Halsey returned to the Lincoln family’s estate. Patricia caught her by the arm. “Where did you go?”

“I didn’t get to see him. He doesn’t want to see me.”

Patricia frowned, then said firmly, “He’s made his choice. I think it’s time for you to forget about him. The Johnson family just called. Calvin heard about our problem and asked if you wanted some help.”
