My Dad Please Come 907

    Warren was speechless.

He really had nothing left to say-Shaun’s logic had left himpletely dumbfounded.

Honestly, trying to reason with a sweet but clueless CEO like Shaun was a lost cause. They weren’t even speaking the same

Warren had to admit, though, that first love could be devastating. Shaun was clearly still head over heels for Halsey-the rich girl who had walked into his life back when he was just a poor kid. And now, no matter what, he just couldn’t let her go.

Still, as a normal person with a working brain, Warren didn’t like Halsey. In his eyes, she had hurt his best friend way too many

    times.

“Shaun, wake up, man. I swear, she must’ve put some kind of spell on you.”

Right then, the office door swung open and Chelsea walked in.

Today, Chelsea was dressed to impress. Her silky dress hugged her figure in all the right ces, and even her hair looked perfectly styled. She wasn’t wasting a single second-she was determined to use every opportunity to make Shaun fall for her.

“What are you guys talking about?” she asked with a warm smile.

“Thank god you’re here!” Warren jumped in. “Talk some sense into Shaun. He’s about to go on a dinner date with Ms. Mallin!”

    “What?” Chelsea’s expression froze.

She quickly stepped forward. “I thought you two broke up. Why are you seeing her again?”

Warren answered before Shaun could. “Because she came crawling back saying she’s into him, and Shaun just melted.”

Chelsea clenched her fists. She couldn’t understand why Halsey was always in her way. Well, she was determined not to lose

    Shaun to her again.

“Don’t you see what she’s doing?” she asked Shaun. “Ms. Mallin’s been ying with you from the start! When your face was disfigured, she dumped you. Now that you’re handsome again, she wants you back. Can’t you see it’s a trick? Don’t fall for it again.”

Shaun turned to look at her. “It’s not a trick. She likes how I look now, and I do look good now. Isn’t that enough?”

    Chelsea was stunned.

Warren, too, couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Shaun nced at his watch. “I’ve got to head out now.”

“Shaun!” Chelsea called after him, unwilling to give up.

Warren added, “Shaun, can’t you see? Chelsea’s the one who stood by you through everything. She’s the one who really cares. She went all the way to Lhassaria to find Snowpeak Bloom for you because she knew you needed it. If it weren’t for her, your face wouldn’t have healed!”

Shaun looked back at Chelsea. “I’m grateful for what you did. That’s why I had Martin wire a million to your ount.”

Chelsea’s face went pale. She had given Shaun the rare Snowpeak Bloom, and all she got in return was money. He had never once given her a reason to hope for more.

Warren frowned. “Chelsea doesn’t want your money. She wants you.”

Shaun turned to Chelsea. “Is that true? You want me?”

Chelsea nodded. “Yes. I love you!”

However, Shaun’s voice was calm. “Then you should already know-I don’t love you back.”

    Chelsea froze.

Shaun continued, “I’ve only ever seen you as a friend. There’s nothing romantic between us, and you know it. If one million doesn’t feel like enough, I’ll ask Martin to send another one million. But the only thing I can give you is money. I can’t give you my heart. You understand?”

Chelsea’s hands curled into tight fists at her sides.

Shaun’s tone remained steady. “We’re all adults here. We both know how this works. I’m leaving now.”
