    But when he pulled out an autograph book and approached her with an almost fan-like respect, everyone was stunned.


    Before Dani could respond, Niks stepped out from the building, his gaze icy as he remarked, “I didn’t expect you to arrive so soon.”


    Dani shot him a frosty smile. “Ie when I feel like it. Is that a problem? Oh, wait, I forgot—McCoy Group isn’t yours yet.”


    “How dare you!” Niks snarled, his anger making veins pulse on his forehead. “Dani, don’t get too cocky! It was just a petty game yesterday. Do you really think you’re so impressive? This is a global corporation, not a yground. You might want to stop before you make a fool of yourself!”


    Dani let out a lightugh. “Is that right? If you think I’m powerless and blind to everything, why are you so terrified of me?”


    Niks’ fury red instantly.


    Dani smirked, lifting her chin with defiance. “Step aside. Don’t stand in my way.”


    Irritation surged through Niks, igniting his temper in an instant.


    His teeth clenched in frustration as he spat, “What did you just say? Dani, this is McCoy Group, not your Elite Lux! My father has acknowledged Cedric’s identity, but he hasn’t given the green light for Cedric’s ce in the group. So don’t get ahead of yourself.”


    Dani’s voice was like ice, sharp and cutting. “What does Cedric have to do with any of this? I am arrogant because I have the strength to be.”


    Fury twisted Niks’s face, his anger boiling over.


    A sh of raw, seething hatred flickered in his eyes, his gaze snapping to a certain spot upstairs.


    Damon caught the movement in Niks’s eyes and stepped forward, but Niks quickly reached out, yanking him back.


    Without warning, from dozens of meters above, a gray flowerpot came crashing down toward the earth.


    Dani’s eyes shot up. In the split second before it struck, she darted to the side, narrowly avoiding the pot. With quick reflexes, she grabbed Cedric and yanked him out of harm’s way.


    The pot collided with the ground, shattering into a thousand pieces with a deafening crash.


    Dani’s gaze turned frosty, her eyes locking onto Niks with cold fury.


    Niks stood unfazed, arms crossed, a smirk ying on his lips as he said, “Consider this a gift to you.”


    Dani’s eyes remained as cold as ever, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she responded, “Is that so? How generous of you, Niks.”


    Hamilton’s car arrived just as the spectacle unfolded, the timing impable.


    He heard Dani say, “What a truly extraordinary gift! I’ll graciously ept it. But Niks, do you realize this is McCoy Group? If something happened to me here, tomorrow’s headlines would be explosive. Have you thought about how this might tarnish McCoy Group’s reputation?”


    Dani had already spotted Hamilton’s car pulling up.
