?Chapter 1312:
Before they went upstairs, Niks said smugly to Charles, “No matter what Dad had nned before, among the four of us, he favors me the most. I know you were hoping Dani would help you turn things around. Howughable! I can already guess what you’re thinking. Dad might me me for this, but who cares? He’ll still choose me as the heir. He won’t hurt me, but as for you all… You all used to say you supported me as heir, but you had your own schemes. I’ll forgive you this time, but in the future, I expect you to follow my lead! Once I take control of McCoy Group, you’ll all step down from your roles and enjoy the dividends.”
As Niks spoke, the elevator doors slid open.
Kohen and Duran overheard Niks’s scheme.
Both of their eyes widened in disbelief.
They never imagined the scene would turn so awkward when Niks revealed his true intentions.
The elevator came to a stop at the CEO’s office floor.
Niks shook his jacket, stepping out of the elevator first with a triumphant air. The others followed, their heads bowed in defeat.
Niks strode toward Hamilton’s office, pushing the door open with confidence.
He had already made up his mind about what he would say next.
He would tell Hamilton that he would be the CEO of McCoy Group, regardless of his opinion.
He swung the door open.
And then, he froze in shock.
Hamilton’s office was packed, with five people standing inside.
The same five who had been trapped in the elevator just moments ago.

One of them, Niks’s secretary, was among them.
Upon seeing Niks, the secretary red at him with a mixture of bitterness and sorrow, before hiding his face in his hands and quietly sobbing.
Niks, unfazed, ignored the secretary’s reaction and turned his attention to Dani. She sat on the sofa, casually chatting andughing with Hamilton, as if the cmity had never urred.
Locking eyes with Niks, Dani asked, “Surprised to see me here, safe and sound?”
Hamilton’s expression hardened, his mood shifting instantly.
All of Niks’s ambitions, his dreams of victory, evaporated the moment he stepped through the door.
“Why are you here?” Niks demanded, unable to mask his disbelief.
He couldn’tprehend how they could still be alive. The sound of the elevator plummeting had been deafening, and the impact had been catastrophic.
Dani should have been dead. There was no possible way she could have survived.
How could she possibly be sitting here now?
It waspletely iprehensible!
Dani’s gaze was frosty as she responded, “If I weren’t here, where do you think I should be?”
Niks almost blurted a response but caught himself when he met Hamilton’s cold, menacing stare.
