Chapter 1387

    ?Chapter 1387:

Any remaining attachment Niks felt shattered beneath Hamilton’s merciless decree. He nodded firmly. “Fine. I’m walking away.”

He continued down the hallway without hesitation. His brothers trailed behind for a few steps, but Niks held up a hand. “Don’t follow me. This isn’t sudden—I’ve wanted to break free for a long time. I just want the life I’ve never been allowed to live.” With that, he disappeared from view.

Hamilton’s voice thundered again. “If he’s leaving, make sure it’s clean. Joseph, alert finance. Cancel every card in Niks’s name and freeze his ounts. Inform all our partners that Niks is no longer one of us. No privileges, no favors, no exceptions.”

A stunned silence fell over the remaining McCoy brothers. Hamilton intended to erase Niks’s influencepletely, turning him into an outcast. Severed from the family’s support, Niks resembled an abandoned stray—homeless and nameless. All he carried were a few thousand dors in cash and the clothes on his back, now his only possessions of worth.

Later that evening, Hamilton issued strict orders to every McCoy family member.

If anyone dared to assist Niks in secret—even with the smallest sum of money—they would be cast out of the family without a second thought. And just like that, in one cruel night, Niks waspletely forsaken.

He managed to rent a hotel room for two nights, but before long, his funds dwindled to a few scattered coins.

As Dani and Cedric stepped out of their car, they spotted a lone figure hunched near the distant vi. Instantly on guard, Cedric moved to stand in front of Dani, his protective instinct kicking in.

“That looks like Niks,” Dani murmured, narrowing her eyes as she studied the silhouette.

After a moment, Cedric nodded. “It is him.” He took Dani’s hand and guided her forward. “Why are you here?”

Niks lifted his head. The first thing he saw was Dani’s and Cedric’s intertwined hands. A shadow crossed his face, and his expression turned grim.

“I don’t have anywhere else to turn,” he answered, his voice heavy with shame.

Dani blinked, clearly taken aback. Cedric fell silent, equally surprised.

“You’re a McCoy,” Cedric said slowly, “yet you im you have no ce in Oliscoll—a city practically ruled by your own family?”

Niks nced at Dani, who stood quietly behind Cedric, her face unreadable. “I’m no longer a McCoy. They’ve already released an official notice stripping me of every title I held. Haven’t you seen the news?”

Even in his decline, he retained the pride of someone who had been heir for far too many years. But neither Dani nor Cedric were given to easy sympathy—kindness had never been their way.

Cedric ignored Niks and turned to Dani. “Come on inside. I’ll cook the dish you love. The fish we picked up today looks perfect.” Without sparing Niks another nce, he led Dani toward the vi.

Niks remained rooted to the spot, his eyes fixed on Cedric and Dani as they crossed the threshold. The front door opened gently, spilling golden light across the ground, then closed quietly behind them, leaving Niks alone in the growing dark.
