Chapter 437
Although he had called us out as needing to meet with him privately after the meeting, he didn’t want anyone to know that we were the only two staying. He felt that it was important to move us into a guest apartment on the third floor of the pack house before the council came. We were told that the dining hall would remain open for all meals until the council left. After that he encouraged us to use the banquet hall with the pack members. He exined that the banquet hall closes for the day after lunch Friday through Sunday so we would need to either cook our own dinner or we were wee to join his family. It’s his way of ensuring that families spend that time together.
The second meeting happened the day the council came so he could exin what the council would be doing and what the expectations from the prospects were and thest one was Friday. Alpha gave everyone both a written and verbal run down of the schedule that’s happening today.
Everyone in the dorms were to report to breakfast by seven before returning to their rooms to clean everything out. He wanted nothing left in the rooms except anything new that was provided but not used. Every room was to be cleaned and personal belongingsbeled with the tags provided before being brought downstairs to the dorm’s foyer. Everything was to bepleted by noon at which time they could report for lunch as the omegas sorted and moved all the belongings to the buses. Everyone was instructed to be on the bus by 2pm.
Alpha requested that Mica and I join him for lunch today. It was a pleasant surprise to see Cole, Jessa and Dr. Pierce there as well. Cole is a wreck right now. It seems that knowing he only has a month or so left is haunting him. While I’m not looking forward to leaving this ce at least I know I won’t be forcibly grabbed by the back of my neck and led away like a criminal. That’s what happened both times he was on a run with me. It took me days to find him and help him to his room.
My phone rings an alert for the text messageing in. I pick it up and see that it’s from Alpha ck reminding me of my meeting with him. I know it’s time to start heading downstairs. I take several deep breaths, attempting to calm my nerves as I slide my phone into my pocket.
“Are you okay?”
Mica asks as she runs her hand under my shirt, around to my back, embracing me into a hug. I wrap my arms around her, pulling her into me as sheys her head on my chest.
“Things don’t go well when I’ve brokenmands involving Cole back home.” I sigh as Iy my head on top of hers.
“Maybe it’s about offering you a position in the pack like my meeting was.”
“You were offered sanctuary from the abuse.”
“Yes that’s true but I was also offered a position training the shifted female teens. Alpha said that having both male and female teenage shifters in the same group was causing a lot of injuries and he needs a female to head the training of that group. What’s the likelihood you would be punished when I’m not.”
“I’m not abused, Mica. He is strict and unforgiving and I brokemand to help Cole.”
I try to emphasize the difference between us despite my genuine fear of Alpha ck right now.
“I guess it’s best if I don’t keep him waiting.”
I breathe the scent of my mate deeply as she lets go of her hold on me.
“He’s not a bad alpha, Jamie.
1 nod my head to Mica’sment but it feels like I just told her a lie. I make my way to the door of our temporary apartment and head out. Alpha Redmen has taught me well to never leave him waiting,
