Chapter 444
He sighs heavily as he pauses for a drink.
“I locked the door behind me not even thinking about alpha having a master key to every room in the pack house and outlying buildings. It was a gruesome sight to see. As I forced myself to walk through the small training room all I could see was my friend’s lifeless body lying in the middle of the floor. He was nude and bleeding badly from all the cuts left by the belt buckle. His body was facing away from me but I could still make out the growing puddle that surrounded his head. It looked like a scene from a horror movie, only it’s his reality,
I circled his body so I could see his face and as I expected he was unconscious, bleeding bad from his nose and mouth. I reached out to him, touched his hair as I called his name. It took several minutes but I did get him to yelp himself awake. It made me nervous that the noise would cause alpha toe back but it wasn’t the same as the fear I have now in helping him.”
“What changed to make you afraid?”
“Not yet alpha.”
He whispers as he turns to face me, his cheeks wet from silent tears.
“Alpha Redmen only trains certain warriors to be a field medic so I was quite lost on how to help him. As adamant as he was that me and my family leave him to fight his own battles we knew he would never survive on his own. Not if what we had seen from the time we met him continued.
Mom, dad and I agreed among ourselves that we would continue to help him as much as possible. I called to him again and told him I’d be back when he groaned and squeezed my hand. I moved quickly but quietly to the door, cracked it open and verified that no one was in the hall. The lights were dimmed indicating that the offices were closed for the evening.
I closed and locked the door again before finding a hand pad and darting out the side door. I shifted without undressing allowing me to run faster. Unfortunately I didn’t realize howte it was at night until I got home. It startled my dad into a partial shift because he wasn’t expecting me toe home the day before I left.
He ended up pulling me into a hug because I was so frantic and crying hysterically that he couldn’t understand me. It wasn’t until he put me in a soft submit that I was able to pull myself together enough to be understood. Once he understood what had happened he went after his personal medic bag in his room while I threw on a quick pair of pajamas, jumped in the car and left for the pack house.
He pulled around back and followed me to the side door. He kept asking questions about getting into the room when I insisted on going around back. Fortunately no one had disturbed the pad I ced on the ground to keep the door open so we got in easily. Dad went straight to work cleaning him up gently and trying to get him conscious enough to walk back to
his room.
Dad had a special nket that he wrapped around him once he was awake enough to move around. We walked him slowly back to his room and we were surprised put grateful to run into Olivia. We had never been inside the pack house on a regr basis outside of reporting to alpha’s office so all we knew was that his room was on the ground floor at the back of the house where the omega maids tend to sleep.
