Irene had no idea how long her sleepsted. In the middle of the night, she heard a faint tapping on the window again, giving her goosebumps. Just like the previous times, she didn''t even dare to open the curtains. But the tapping grew louder, making her feel increasingly anxious. All of a sudden, the noise stoppedpletely. Irene waited for a long time, and when there was still no sound, she went back to sleep. However, just half an hourter, while she was still sleeping fitfully, theplex, subtle, and terrifying noise returned. It was the same rhythmic tapping against the window.

Irene clutched her nket tightly and quickly covered her ears. "Leave me alone, Teresa! It''s not me who harmed you. I gave your mom lot of money, so don''t mess with me. If anything happens to me, My grandpa won''t let your family off easily!" she murmured to herself.

The irritating sound of ss scratching continued, the annoying buzzing bothering her ears. Irene hid under the covers for a long time until she didn''t hear a sound anymore. Only then did she dare to peek out, and when she confirmed there were no noises, she sighed in relief but was too scared to fall asleep again.

The door to her room opened, and she froze. Looking up, she saw William. "Get up," he said with a displeased expression.

Feeling exhausted, Irene crawled out of bed and headed to the study.

"These days, your nightmares have been causing chaos at home. What on earth is going on?" William''s gaze was far from gentle, a cold look directed at Irene. After a while, Irene gradually calmed down. She instantly grabbed William''s hand, crying out, "Grandpa, she''s trying to take me away! She wants to take me away!" "Who?" William asked in a deep voice.

Tears streaming down her face, Irene cried out in fear, "Teresa, she''s out for revenge."

A cold glint shed in William''s eyes. "Is it Teresa, the one who jumped to her death?" he asked hesitantly.

"Yes, yes, it''s her!" Irene nced fearfully around. "Don''te after me, I didn''t cause your death. If you want to me someone, me Yasmine. Go find her."

In just a few words, William understood why Irene was so frightened. He looked at her coldly. "Tell me everything from the beginning," he demanded. He didn''t believe his granddaughter had nothing to do with Teresa''s death; otherwise, she wouldn''t be so scared. Daisy received a signal and quickly left the room. Trembling, Irene recounted the events to William. "Grandpa! It really wasn''t my fault. That woman was doomed anyway! She had AIDS, and there was no way to save her... Plus, I gave her family a sum of money afterward, enough for Teresa''s mom and brother to livefortably."

Smack! William raised his hand and pped down, "Idiot! I''ve been training you all these years to have you push someone off the rooftop? Haven''t I always told you to leave no loose ends, never let anything trace back to you? Now that you''ve pushed her off, your hands are stained with blood. Even if you wash it off, the stench of blood lingers. Worse, you''ll keep reying the scene of pushing her in your mind. It''s only a matter of time before these images destroy you. And you have the nerve to talk about having nightmares." Irene''s cheek turned red from the p. Holding her face, she let a tear slip down. "Grandpa, I didn''t mean to, but she came for revenge! She struggled not to scream, fighting to keep herposure.

William retrieved something from behind him and tossed it at her feet, "Is this the shadow you were talking about?"

Irene looked on in disbelief, "This?"

    13:34 Sat,

"Since you first started having nightmares, I''ve had people keeping an eye on the vi''s surroundings. The silhouette you saw tonight was just a piece of white cloth, but we didn''t catch anyone. All we found was this cloth thrown on the ground," William said, his eyes filled with coldness. He sneered, "Fool! You didn''t even realize you''ve been tricked. It''s all part of someone else''s n. Did you really think it was a ghost? You''ve thrown all your years of education into the sea." Irene''s nerves rxed instantly, and she giggled before switching to anger, "Who is it? Who dares to mess with me like this?"

"I can let you investigate who''s behind this, but you''d better not dy our ns. You''ve dragged us down too much these past few days," William''s eyes shed coldly.

Irene nervously lowered her eyes. "I''m sorry, Grandpa. I''ll make sure to adjust myself properly."

William looked at Irene''s swollen cheek and finally couldn''t help but say, "Don''t get involved in Teresa''s matter anymore. I''ll handle it."

    "Thank you, Grandpa," Irene said.

William nced at Irene, with the nning documents at hand. "The proposal from the nning department looks, Let''s go with that. By the way, how are things going with Yonas? Are you two making any progress in getting along?" good.

Irene wore a serious expression and didn''t answer his previous question. She suddenly remembered what her assistant mentioned on the way back from Canalshore. "Grandpa, someone is investigating that matter." William''s pupils contracted sharply. "Who?"

"The other party is very cautious and will stop at the slightest hint of trouble. Our people are already on full alert," Irene said in a deep voice.

William nodded and nced at the bottle of red wine by his hand. "Irene, ask Yonas if he''s free toe over for dinner tonight. I''ve got a fine bottle of wine here that I want him to try with us."

Irene''s head shot up. Was he suspecting something...? She didn''t voice her doubts, but nodded firmly, "Yes."

At 7 PM, two cars were parked at the entrance of the White family''s home: a red Ferrari and a ck Cayenne. Yonas got out and walked in with Irene through the main gate.

As soon as they stepped inside, William approached them with a kind smile. "I''ve been wanting to invite you over for dinner, but I was worried you were too busy with work. I received a bottle of red wine from France, quite remarkable-it''s a Romanée-Conti, world- renowned. I''ve heard its name, the king of wines. My people got it at the Grandeur Auction Assembly for a total of 500 thousand dors. You''re in for a treat, Yonas."

Yonas nced at the wine bottle. Romanée-Conti is released in limited quantities. Even obtaining a meager amount at an auction is difficult, often bought outright by the event itself. Managing to snag this bottle showed how much effort William had put into acquiring it. Yonas joked, "Since Mr. White is opening such expensive wine, it''s a shame my grandpa isn''t here to enjoy it. If he finds our that I got to taste this bottle from you, he''ll scold me when I get home."
