When Elsa walked into the doctor’s office, the door hadn’t fully closed behind her. That’s when one of James’s people managed to record the whole thing–an opportunity they’d been watching <b>for</b>.
Once his man reported back, James ordered him to keep a close eye on Elsa.
He had a gut feeling about her. She didn’t want to <i>go </i>through with the abortion, and he suspected she <b>was </b>nning to use the baby to frame Lily.
What he didn’t expect was how fast she’d act.
There had been a traffic jam that afternoon, and his guy lost sight of her. That’s the only <b>reason </b>he hadn’t gotten there in time to protect Lily.

James had poured a huge investment into that theater.
He was the one who had the hidden surveince installed.
He didn’t do it to spy on anyone or vite anyone’s privacy. He just wanted a backup <b>in </b><b>case </b>someone tried to hurt Lily. There were too many threats he couldn’t predict.
Elsa and Mathilda had a habit of disabling surveince before making trouble.

Ashton didn’t even flinch at Elsa’s fury. He just looked away, calm and cold, and tapped y on the video he’d pulled up.
“Then I heard a voice call to me–it was my wife,e back after three years apart..”

On the big screen, Lily was standing on stage in costume, reciting a monologue, her voice low and <b>steady</b>. She waspletely immersed in the performance. Suddenly<i>, </i>Elsa crept up behind her like a shadow.
The second Lily heard Elsa’s voice, she froze, then quickly stepped back. It was obvious she didn’t want to be anywhere near her–like she was bracing for Elsa to snap or try to me her for something.
Elsa’s expression was twisted–bitter and smug–and then she spoke again.
Then came her words, “You’re the reason I lost my baby.”
Everyone watching was confused. Elsa looked fine. Lily hadn’t touched her. So how did that even make sense?
And then–before anyone could blink–Elsa suddenly flung herself off the <b>edge </b>of the <b>raised </b><b>stage</b><b>, </b><b>like </b><b>she </b>was having a full–blown breakdown.
