Now that it seemed they wouldn’t have to witness James unting his affection for <b>another </b><b>man</b><b>, </b>everyone’s gloom lifted.
The clouds cleared, the skies brightened–sunshine all around. They all silently agreed, <b>they </b>needed to keep a close eye on those two. They absolutely could not let James and Lily go through with <b>that </b><b>divorce</b>.
When Elsa woke up, it was already the next morning.
She remembered being rushed into the emergency room the night before. She clutched his hand tightly and asked in a trembling voice, “Simon, I think I was hallucinating <bst </b>night in the room. I thought I heard the doctors say that to save my life, they had to remove my uterus. But <b>I </b>only had a miscarriage, why would they remove my uterus? Seeing her face so pale, her eyes red–rimmed and wet, Simon’s heart ached.

“What did you say?”
Elsa’s eyes filled with such pain it felt like they were shattering, piece by piece.
She gripped her abdomen tightly and choked but, “You’re lying, aren’t you? I wanted to be a mother<b>. </b><b>I </b>wanted to give John a child. Why would I ever agree to that kind of surgery?”
“Simon, please! I’m begging you, don’t joke with me like this, okay?”
Simon’s face was full of pain, but he couldn’t find the words tofort her.
It was John, who had been standing silently at the doorway the entire time–who finally spoke, expression nk. “Elsa, no one’s lying to you. You framed Lily with malice, brought this on yourself, and destroyed your own body.”
