“Mr. Monroe, save your strength. Charles will be here soon. Just let him handle it. This is Summers family business, after all,” Andrew said, his voice tinged with a coldness he didn’t even notice.

Then he coughed a few times, slowly lifting his head. His crisp white shirt was flecked with blood, and beads of it clung to the ends of his hair, dripping onto his forehead.

His features were so refined they almost looked unhealthy, giving him a strangely captivating look.

Olivia finally tore her gaze away from Edward and looked at Andrew. Seeing him like this, she raised her eyebrows and walked over. She said softly, “Your health isn’t great to begin with, so why are your trying to join the chaos?”

Andrew said, “Because you are here. You are my doctor. If something happens to you, who’s going to

    save me?”

Olivia shook her head helplessly and stuffed the sachet she carried into his hand.

“I don’t want it,” Andrew protested.

Olivia leaned in close and said, “There are herbs in here to soothe your nerves and cool your internal fire. As for the blood on you…”

Her voice was barely above a whisper, and for a moment, their breaths tangled together. Her hair. brushed his cheek, making his nose itch, and his breathing grew heavier, his Adam’s apple moving up

    and down.

“It’s not mine,” Andrew answered, his voice clear and gentle, with a soft warmth that made him seem

    almost ethereal.

Jenny was hiding behind Edward, enjoying the scene. She thought, ‘Andrew, you really know how to y your cards.

Olivia nodded and stepped back, keeping a respectful distance from Andrew.

Then she said, “About a couple of miles east of the vige entrance, there’s an abandoned hospital. That’s where the other girls are being held. I couldn’t get them out myself. Take your team and get

    them out.

“I poisoned the trafficker couple. They won’t get far. Track down the guy–he’s the one who handles moving the girls around. If you need info, he’s your best bet. But you need to hurry–the poison I used will kick in thirty minutes, tops.”

“Bring that couple over here. I have some questions for them,” Olivia said, suddenly remembering something.

Andrew replied, “Got it.” He then nced at Ethan and ordered, “Take care of it.“”

Ethan nodded and got to work.

“What made you bring that up?” Olivia asked, her voice a little hoarse from talking all day. She took a

sips of water, her gazending on Andrew.

Andrew paused, fingers idly moving as he thought. “Jenny sent me to y the knight in shining armor,” he said with azy grin.

Olivia let out a softugh and said, “Honestly, maybe I would’ve handled things even better if you hadn’t shown up.”

Andrew arched a brow, teasing, “So I just made things messier for you?”

Olivia said, “A little, yeah. But you did save me a lot of effort.”

Andrew didn’t say a word–he just let a small smile tug at his lips.

Edward lingered nearby, wanting to chime in but couldn’t find the right moment. The two of them were getting along so well–it’d be super awkward for him to butt in now.

With a thousand worries swirling in his mind, Edward figured he’d better track down that trafficker

    couple and get some answers.

His hypothermia was getting worse–skin icy, hands and feet numb–but nothing could stop him from searching for ivy. He refused to let himself copse.

Helen’s heart ached for him. She said, “Edward, listen to me. Get in the car and see a doctor, okay? I’ll stay here and keep watch for you. Don’t worry about a thing.”
