Chapter 316

“Looks like you’ve fallen hard for Remington, huh? A few sweet nothings from him and you’re all over

    yourself. Pathetic, really!”

Lizetta figured Ynda was disappointed. After all, Ynda had been running around, helping her deal

with her divorce. And now, Lizetta had suddenly changed her mind.

Feeling guilty and flustered, Lizetta was about to apologize when Ynda suddenly hugged her,

    laughing.

“No matter what you decide, girl, I’ve got your back! Besides, with Joy in the picture, who wouldn’t want

to be the morous wife of a wealthy family, andter, the elegant matriarch? It’d be dumb to pass that

up! You’re not the only one who’s head over heels for Remington, Girls willing to chase him could line

up around Zion City twice! How can you call that pathetic? You’re brave for chasing love, Liz. Go get

him, and I wish you all the happiness!”

Feeling a warmth in her heart, Lizetta hugged Ynda back.

“Yoli, thank you. You have no idea how relieved I was to find out he wasn’t with Evelina. If he’s got no

one else in his heart, why can’t that person be me? I mean, I’ve always been close to him, like a sister.

Now, as his lover and wife, I can definitely make a ce for myself in his heart! After all, I’m pretty cute

and have a great personality, right?”

“Absolutely, you’re a total catch! Go on, win him overpletely!” Ynda cheered for Lizetta.

Lizetta blushed slightly, her lips curving into a shy smile.

Just then, her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, her smile widened.

She nced at Ynda, who waved her hand dismissively.

“Ugh, can I smell the cheesy scent of love in the air? Go on, take the call.”

Lizetta answered the phone, pressing it to her ear, and Remington’s familiar, gravelly voice filled her

    ear.

    “Where are you?”

He sounded like he had just woken up, his voice husky and incredibly appealing to Liz.

“I’m downstairs, chatting with Yoli. Why didn’t you sleep in a bit more?”

“You said you’d sleep in with me. Without you, I can’t sleep deeply. When are youing back?”

Lizetta could detect a hint of sulkiness in his tone. She turned to nce at Ynda.

Ynda, having caught a bit of the conversation, winked at Lizetta, raising her voice yfully, “Just a

few words and someone’s already checking in on you. Alright, I’m off. But Mr. Dashiell, if you don’t treat

our Liz right this time, believe me, I’ll be down at the Starlight Group’s building with a banner protesting

    against you!”

After saying her piece, Ynda waved goodbye, “Got stuff to do at the studio. You’re okay, so I’m off.”

She left, her departure as fiery as ever.

Lizetta chuckled, phone in hand, heading back inside, “Did you hear that? Yoli is always so dramatic.

    Don’t be upset.”

Remington justughed lightly, “It’s good she’s so protective of you. Why would I be upset?”

    09:50

If it weren’t for Ynda’s genuine care for Lizetta, Remington would have had a hard time tolerating her

    antics.

“I’ll be up in a moment, then. Gotta go, bye.”

His chuckle tugged at Lizetta’s heartstrings. She hung up, feeling a flutter in her chest.

But she hadn’t expected to look up and see Evelina in a heated exchange with Jolin and her entourage.

It was clear Jolin was pestering Evelina, who looked utterly frustrated yet somehow obliged to deal with

    them.

Then, something Jolin said seemed to corner Evelina, who turned to April and reached out her hand.

April handed over a bank card, which Evelina then gave to Jolin.

Only then did Jolin and her group leave, allowing Lizetta to stealthily move behind a pir to watch.

Seeing them go, Lizetta pondered the situation.

Jolin had let slip before that Evelina regrly sent them money.

Now, even in her own turmoil, Evelina was still looking out for them.

Given Evelina’s typically self–centered nature, Lizetta found it all very peculiar.
