?Chapter 1845:
Elyse’s agitation red, her words sharp as a de. “Don’t y innocent with me. You must know something—stop weaving lies!”
Theo shook his head firmly, his expression earnest. “I’m not spinning tales, Elyse. I truly have no clue. Thest time we crossed paths, it was purely about a potential partnership—nothing more.”
Tracy, overhearing the exchange, arched a skeptical brow. “You and Jayden discussing partnership? Since when were you two on good terms?”
Theo sped his hands on the desk, his voice steady. “I’ll admit, I wouldn’t have entertained the idea before, but times have changed. We can’t steer the future by staring at the past, can we?”
Tracy’s lips curled into a wry smirk. “That is a stretch, even for you.”
“I’m a businessman at heart,” Theo countered smoothly. “I’ve learned some desires can’t be forced. If romance isn’t on the horizon, I’ll pour my energy into my work instead.”
Tracy chuckled, her tone teasing. “Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? A little elbow grease, and you might snag both love and a sessful career.”
Theo faltered, caught off bnce. “I’m not the schemer you paint me as,” he murmured.
Elyse, watching the exchange, began to see the truth in his eyes—he genuinely didn’t know where Jayden had vanished to. But if not here, then where? Her thoughts spiraled, and tears slipped silently down her cheeks.
Theo and Tracy exchanged a nce, rm flickering between them as Elyse’s quiet sobs filled the air.
Theo leapt to his feet, snatching a handful of tissues to dab gently at Elyse’s tears. “Please, don’t cry,” he urged softly. “I’ll help you track down Jayden.”

Tracy chimed in, her voice warm and reassuring. “Chin up, Elyse. Jayden is a clever one—he’ll be fine. Maybe he’s just tangled up in something and will waltz back soon.”
Theo nodded, his tone soothing. “Exactly. Let’s get you home to rest, and you can wait for word there.”
Elyse took a few shaky steps before a wave of dizziness washed over her. Theo was at her side in an instant, steadying her with a concerned frown. “Are you all right?”
She paused, waiting for the world to stop spinning, then lifted her gaze, her face drained of color.
Tracy’s sharp eyes caught the pallor in Elyse’s cheeks. “Good heavens, you’re running yourself ragged. Let’s take you home so you can recharge.”
With a faint nod, Elyse trailed after Tracy, her steps heavy with worry.
No sooner had they stepped through the door than Chloe’s voice crackled through the phone, brimming with excitement. “Elyse, tomorrow’s your golden ticket! A dazzling performance could catapult you to stardom and nudge that world tour dream within reach.”
Elyse, sipping the honeyed milk Driscoll had pressed into her hands, paused mid-swallow. “What performance?”
Chloe’s enthusiasm bubbled over. “Tomorrow, national dignitaries are gracing the Celestial Sounds Symphony with their presence. Merlin reached out to me, begging for you to take the stage for the grand finale.”
Elyse sputtered, nearly choking on her drink. “Merlin called you? You’re serious?”
“Dead serious,” Chloe affirmed. “I’ve done my homework. You’re the violinist from Celestial. Say yes to Merlin, and by tomorrow night, your name will be aze in the spotlight. Your dream’s practically knocking at the door!”
Elyse’s heart fluttered with temptation, but Jayden’s mysterious absence gnawed at her peace.
