Victor turned, his curiosity piqued by the violin case dangling from Nick’s hand. “Another violinist? The ballroom’s crawling with them tonight. Is this some grand n you all cooked up?”

Nick’s reply was enigmatic. “Call it a silent pact.”

Victor tilted his head, mulling it over. “How many years does it take to y like Elyse?”

Nick didn’t miss a beat. “Her gift is pure magic. No amount of practice could lift an ordinary soul to her heights.”

Victor rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “So, you reckon I’ve got a spark of talent?”

Nick blinked, caught off guard. “Are you pulling my leg?”

Tracy, after a discreet sweep of the ballroom, glided back into the dressing room. The sight of Elyse in her wedding gown sent a wave of joy crashing over her.

She dashed to Elyse’s side and whispered, “The ballroom’s alive with anticipation—they’re all waiting for your grand entrance!”

Elyse’s cheeks flushed a soft pink. “It’s odd. I’ve already walked down an aisle once, yet my nerves are dancing a jig today.”

Tracy waved a hand dismissively. “That first one? A mere charade. This, my dear, is the real deal!” Her gaze shifted, and she froze as Hardy came into view. “I thought you had skipped town! What brings you back?”

Hardy shed a roguish grin. “Elyse extended an invitation to her wedding, so here I am, back in the fold.”

Tracy’s jaw dropped as she swiveled to Elyse, disbelief etched across her face. “Since when did you two get so chummy?”

Elyse tossed a yful wink her way. “Truth be told, we unraveled your little revenge scheme thanks to Hardy spilling the beans.”

Tracy’s temper red. “You sold me out!”

Hardy’s voice remained steady, a calm anchor in her storm. “I was trying to save you. The fixation, the venom—it was eating you alive. Couldn’t you feel the weight of it? I saw it in as day, and I wanted to help you climb out of that dark pit.”

He offered a gentle smile and added, “Since you wouldn’t hear me out, I turned to someone you couldn’t ignore.”

Elyse sped Tracy’s hand with tender warmth. “It was a blessing he came to me—I was able to put the brakes on your ns.”

Tracy’s pout lingered, her fury softening into a reluctant simmer. “Hmph. I should’ve known it was too perfect—you two swooping in just as Lowell and I hit rock bottom.”

Elyse arched a brow, a sly glint in her eye. “Let’s just say a little birdie tipped us off.”

With a heavy sigh, Tracy let thest of her resentment slip away. “Well, it is water under the bridge now. I’m d I didn’t cross a line I couldn’t uncross.” She flicked her wrist to check her watch. “Good heavens, look at the hour! Everyone, to your ces! The bride’s grand moment awaits!”

Elyse gathered the delicate hem of her gown and rose gracefully. Attendants swarmed around her like busy bees, fussing over the flowing train until it cascaded perfectly behind her.

She stood before the towering double doors, her fingers curling into tight fists as nerves fluttered in her chest.

Jayden, the man who held her heart, waited mere steps away on the other side.

After a theatrical hush that stretched for about three minutes, the doors began their slow, majestic sweep inward. A cascade of golden light poured through the growing chasm, bathing the room in brilliance.

As the doors parted fully, Elyse lifted her gaze to find Jayden standing at the aisle’s end, haloed in that tender glow, his eyes locked on her.

A luminous smile broke across her face as she took her first step—toward the radiance, toward her future, toward the love that would carry her forward.
