    <b>Chapter </b>77

“What do you mean you are going to handle this?” Rania looked at Killian suspiciously, but she couldn’t tell what was in his mind, she was trying to decipher his silence, yet only dread that came.

“You don’t need to worry. You can leave now.”

Kean could feel it, she knew something bad might happen, she could feel it deep down in her heart, though she didn’t have any evidence to support the usation. “You will not do anything bad to her, right? She is a good person.”

“Leave, Kean,” Killian said, this time his voice was firmer, and sterner. He seemed to lose his patience with the

    omega.

“Leave before someone sees us, and we will face more trouble than this.”

They were standing at the corner of the warriors‘ quarter, which meant the other warriors couldn’t see them if they were not looking to this spot, but if they did, it would be very awkward, if it was not very obvious that they were hiding something.

This spot was notmon for people to meet, unless you don’t want anyone to see you.

“Okay, but please, don’t hurt her…” Kean said for thest time before she hurried away because the look on Killian’s face was very scary when she kept repeating the same thing.

Finally, when Kean left, Killian thought about what he was going to do to the healer. There was no way he would let her live.

Because once she remembered the scent that she smelled from Kean, they would be done for. He couldn’t gamble their whole n for that.

He sighed and massaged his forehead, grumbling along the way to his bedroom. He was so pissed because he had to do an extra work.

But he had to move swiftly, because he couldn’t guarantee that healer wouldn’t say anything to the royal beta if she had figured it out first.

Killing a healer was an inconvenient job, but killing a royal beta was another problem entirely.

Rania was happy with their visit to the orphanage, and Maximus could see that.

When they walked out of the building, one of the boys, named Lyle approached her sheepishly, and then handed her the ball that they used to y earlier.

“Thank you.” Rania beamed, she leaned over and kissed the boy’s forehead, which he immediately scurried away, a little bit embarrassed, but also afraid because he caught the sight of the king, who walked toward them with alpha Kehn and the other important people in the pack.

“Happy?” Maximus asked, he stood next to Rania, he saw the ball in her hand. He also saw his mate gave a kiss to the boy.

“Yes. I am happy,” Rania said with a bright smile, and Maximus nodded.

After that, they went back to the pack house. Only when they arrived in their bedroom, Rania could feel how tired she was, but she carefully put the ball into her suitcase, so she wouldn’t forget when they returned to the pce.

“Will we visit the orphanage again?”

“Do you want to visit the orphanage again?” Maximus watched Rania put the ball inside the suitcase. She looked radiant when she was happy, and you could see it in her eyes.

“Uhm, yes, if it’s in your schedule,” Rania said in halting, because suddenly she felt self conscious with Maixmus’s question.

“I can put it in my schedule,” Maximus said without missing a beat. He didn’t even think about it twice, but because he had said that, he was going to do it.

The thought that he was going to disappoint her didn’t sit well with him.<fnf831> For more chapters visit FιndNovel</fnf831>

    “Thank you.”

Maximus cupped her face, she was being shy again. “You don’t need to thank me. Once we return, we will have the ceremony for you as the queen.”

Maximus had been postponing this indefinitely, because he didn’t want put Rania on the throne if she was still thinking about another man.

He also was not sure how to deal with her, but recently, their rtionship had improved, and the bond between them had be stronger. He wanted her to rule with him.

“The queen ceremony?” Rania widened her eyes.

“Yes, you are my mate, you should expect this. What?” Maximus saw a flicker of hesitation in her eyes. “What are you thinking about? You don’t like it?” Somehow, his anger red again, but he suppressed it down before it consumed him.

“No, that’s not what I meant,” Rania immediately exined to him before he misunderstood her again. “I thought…” She lowered her eyes, because she couldn’t meet his. “I thought… you will only use me…”

“Use you?” Maximus narrowed his eyes. He caressed his cheeks with his thumbs. “What do

    you mean?<b>” </b>

Tell him. Tell him. Tell him…

The voice in Rania’s head told her to tell him about the truth, especially now when she wasfortable enough around him, and she could speak. She didn’t feel that dreadful feeling where she shut herself down.

“I…” Rania bit her lip, she could get her words out, but it was hard to speak about what happened to her. “The rumors about me… they are not true.” Rania gulped down hardly, as she stared at Maximus’s neck instead. She didn’t dare to see his expression.

Meanwhile, Maximus had been waiting for this moment. He didn’t say anything, and let Rania to speak

whatever she had in her mind. He was still cradling her face between his palms.

“I didn’t. I didn’t throw myself to him… he came to me, every night.” The memories of what Caden had done to her shed before her eyes, and she froze. The feeling came with a strong force, which overwhelmed

    her.

Rania was in trance, she didn’t even feel the hands that cradled her face were trembling. Maximus was holding back his rage when he heard that.

“I didn’t want him. I never want him… I rejected him right away when I knew he was my mate… I don’t want him.” Rania shook her head, and started crying. Tears fell on her cheeks, andnded on Maximus’s hands. “I don’t want him to touch me…”

    “What about the rumor…”

Rania lifted her head, and this time her eyes focused on him. “They are lies. I had never wanted him to touch

    me…”

More tears fell from beautiful eyes, as fear crept in. Maximus knew such gaze so well, because he had gone through that himself.

    “You don’t believe me…”

That was not a question, but a statement. Because Maximus didn’t give her any reaction, she jumped straight to the worse case scenario.

    “I do.” Maximus hugged her.

Long time ago, when he was still under the oppression of his father. He had been in Rania’s shoes. People didn’t believe him. All of the people decided to believe his father’s version, where he pictured him as a

    monster.

Maximus knew how it felt when no one trusted you, and in the end, he became the exact monster that his father portrayed him to be.

That was a fuck up situation.

“I believe you,” Maximus said again, more gently this time, and Rania cried her heart out.
