    “You are hurt again,” Maximus said, his voice had a sharp edge on it, he pressed his forehead against her. “Do you want his head? Or do you want me to skin him alive?”


    Rania opened her eyes in shocked, she shook her head vigorously. She wanted none of it. More so, the alpha who had harmed her had been killed.


    Lifting her head to meet the king’s eyes, Rania saw the determination behind his electric blue eyes. His madness returned. This was not only his way to avenge the insult on her, but Maximus actually enjoyed it.

    Maximus could read what she was saying, but he wanted to hear her voice. She knew that her tongue had healed now. She could speak, but she didn’t want to.

    But, Rania flinched when his hand touched the back of her neck subconsciously, as he wanted to deepen the kiss.


    Maximus sensed that and immediately let her go. He didn’t have any intention to hurt her, but Rania was still holding on his arm.
