After lunch, Jacob, who is Charlie’s father-inw, was already smartly dressed and urging Charlie, “Come on, hurry up! We’re taking our new car to Antique Street. There’s a shop there with an imported Tang Dynasty kiln vase that I want to see.”
Charlie replied, “Dad, are we really diving into the antique obsession again? We don’t have that kind of money right now, and it’s a pretty extravagant hobby.”
Although Jacob didn’t have any skills to earn money, he loved daydreaming about quick schemes to get rich. He frequented Antique Street, hoping to stumble upon a rare antique at a bargain price, but all he had found in recent years were scams and deceit.
He had taken a break from his hobby, but now, not only had he picked it up again, he was feeling the itch to dive back in.
Jacob was irritated by Charlie’s sensiblement. With a scoff, he said, “Enough of your nonsense. Just drive me there!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Feeling helpless, Charlie knew he couldn’t refuse his father-inw, so he reluctantly agreed and drove Jacob to Antique Street.
Aurous Hill was a renowned historical city, and Antique Street, located just outside the main tourist attractions, was famous among both local and international antique enthusiasts.
Recognizing its poprity, the local tourism department had invested significantly to renovate Antique Street, turning it into a major tourist destination.
Upon their arrival, Jacob approached the entrance of an antique shop and informed the receptionist that he had an appointment. She nodded and led them to the VIP room at the back.
Just as Charlie was about to step out, Jacob turned and said, “You should stay here. You don’t know anything about this. Just wait for me by the door of the VIP room!”
Charlie nodded obediently. “Okay, Dad!”
With his hands sped behind his back, Jacob entered the VIP room while Charlie settled into the waiting area.

A few minutester, a loud crash erupted from the VIP room.
Jacob hurried out, panic written all over his face, eximing, “Oh my god, I’m in trouble!”
Concerned, Charlie rushed forward and peered into the room. He saw a tall, slender ceramic vase on the floor, shattered into two pieces, with small ceramic shards scattered everywhere.
From the size of the fragments, Charlie recognized it as a Yuhuchun vase from the Tang Dynasty. Growing up in the Wade family, he had been educated about antiques and could tell at a nce that this vase was authentic, likely worth millions in the market.
This was a serious predicament for his father-inw.
Inside the VIP room, a middle-aged man with a grim expression stated, “Mr. Wilson, we purchased our Yuhuchun vase for five million dors. Since you broke it, you mustpensate us!”
This man was Raymond Cole, the manager of Vintage Deluxe.
Jacob, visibly shaken, pulled Charlie in front of him and stammered, “This is my son-inw. Do you know how wealthy he is? Five million? He could pay you fifty million! You should handle thepensation with him! I have to go now, goodbye!”
With that, Jacob shoved Charlie into the room and quickly exited.<fn6bac> For original chapters go to Find[?]ovel</fn6bac>
Charlie stood there dumbfounded. His father-inw had the audacity to make him the scapegoat!
Raymond regarded Charlie coldly and asked, “Sir, the total bill is 5.38 million. Will you be paying by card or bank transfer?”
Charlie shrugged casually. “I don’t have any money.”
It wasn’t that he couldn’t afford the vase; he simply wanted to teach his father-inw a lesson so he would stop dragging him to Antique Street.
“No money?” Raymond seethed, his anger palpable. “You broke our property, and all you can say to dodge the issue is that you don’t have any money?”
Charlie replied nonchntly, “I’m not trying to avoid it, but honestly, I don’t have any cash on me. Besides, I didn’t break that vase, so you can’t force me to pay.”
