Jasmine was speaking the truth when she said that the new chairman of Emgrand Group struck her as an enigmatic figure.
After all, he had managed to acquire apany valued at over a hundred billion without revealing himself during the entire process. It seemed clear that his wealth far surpassed that of Emgrand Group.
In contrast, the Moore family appeared quite small and inconsequential.
What Jasmine didn’t realize was that the chairman of Emgrand Group was actually sitting right beside her in the passenger seat.
Charlie, the chairman, preferred to maintain a low profile. Even though he would casually respond to Jasmine’s inquiries, he never disclosed anything about his true identity.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
In a matter of minutes, they arrived at a quaint garden near the river, moving at a brisk yet steady pace. The garden exuded elegance and tranquility. While it appeared somewhat worn and rustic from the outside, the interior was nothing short of magnificent.
From a charming little bridge over sparkling water to a beautifully designed Suzhou-style garden, plete with graceful pavilions, it was a dreame true for any man.
After parking the car, a butler weed them and ushered them inside. As they strolled through the garden, they entered a lobby adorned with traditional Chinese furnishings. In the center stood a crimson round table surrounded by several fauteuils.
Upon their arrival, an elderly man with white hair rose to greet Jasmine. “Wee, Miss Moore.”
A hint of awkwardness flickered across Jasmine’s face, but she nodded in acknowledgment. “Uncle Quilt, it’s good to see you.”
The old man smiled warmly. “The Master mentioned you would being, so I thought I’de by to check on you!”
Jasmine nodded and then turned to Charlie. “Uncle Quilt is the appraiser for the Moore family. I suspect someone from my family sent him here as a precaution.”
Charlie nodded in understanding; it made sense for them to be cautious given his youth and inexperience.
Quilt shot a disapproving nce at Charlie. “This is the appraiser you hired? He seems a bit too young for that role.”
A middle-aged man standing beside Quilt snickered, “You’ve hired a child for appraisal work? Don’t you have enough qualified people in the Moore family? I could introduce you to some real appraisers! Hahaha!”
Jasmine’s demeanor turned icy. “Travis Lane, remember that this is Aurous, not Lancaster. I won’t tolerate your disrespect here.”
Travis shrugged nonchntly. “Looks like the Moores have quite the temper.”<fn34b9> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? FιndNovel</fn34b9>
“Let’s all keep our cool,” suggested a middle-aged man seated at the round table, frowning slightly. “We’re here for business, not bickering. Young man, please take a seat.”
Jasmine huffed and settled down at the round table.
As Charlie took his seat, Jasmine leaned closer and whispered, “That’s Travis Lane, the wealthiest man in Lancaster. Next to him is Matthew Gibson, a powerful geomancer. The man who just spoke is Graham Quinton, the head of the Quinton family in Aurous. His family has been…”
Charlie then noticed an elderly man dressed in green traditional Chinese attire sitting next to Travis. The man had a full head of gray hair and an ethereal presence, with his eyes closed. Even as Charlie and Jasmine arrived, he didn’t seem to notice them.
Suddenly, Jasmine trailed off and stopped speaking. Charlie was intrigued about what she was going to say next, but he chose not to press her.
As everyone finally settled in, a portly man in extravagant clothing chuckled. “Now that the fighting is over, let’s get down to business! Take a good look at this beauty! You alle from wealthy families, so I’m sure a billion is just pocket change for you. Let’s not dwell on it for too long.”
Travis scoffed. “If it truly does what you im—regting geomancy and soothing our souls—a billion wouldn’t be a big deal at all.”
