“Too weak!”
Charlie felt a surge of anger and swiftly sidestepped, dodging Aurora’s kick. In retaliation, he lifted his leg andnded a kick squarely on her backside, sending her crashing to the ground.
Adam stood there, his jaw nearly hitting the floor as he processed what had just happened. “This… how is this even possible?!” he muttered, bewildered.
Aurora was mortified. Since she began fighting, she’d never felt so humiliated, and the location of Charlie’s kick only added to her embarrassment.<fnf235> Chapters first released on Find~Novel</fnf235><h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Fuming, Aurora picked herself up and readied herself to charge at Charlie, determined to make him pay for what he had done.
“Aurora, stop right there! Do not disrespect Mr. Wade!”
Suddenly, a middle-aged man rushed over, grabbing Aurora by the arm.
Aurora, still flustered, shouted, “Dad! Let go! I’m going to make him pay!”
‘How dare he kick me? My backside is hurting because of him!’
“Enough!”
The man snapped at Aurora, his re fierce.
He then approached Charlie with a deferential demeanor. After taking a deep breath, he spoke respectfully, “Mr. Wade, it’s good to see you again. I apologize for my daughter and son’s behavior. I will ensure they apologize to you and reflect on their actions when we get home.”
Aurora and Adam exchanged shocked nces, unable toprehend why their father was being so submissive to this young man.
Charlie recognized the man immediately; he had met him while apanying Jasmine to appraise her antique. His name was Graham Quinton.
“Mr. Quinton, it sounds like your children need some proper discipline,” Charlie replied, nodding in acknowledgment.
Graham nodded vigorously, shooting a sharp look at both Aurora and Adam. “Come here and apologize to Mr. Wade right now!” hemanded.
“I will not apologize to that jerk! He kicked me!” Aurora retorted, her face flushed with anger.
Graham was losing his patience quickly. “I want you to apologize to him! Now!”
Seeing her father’s temper re, Aurora felt defeated. She bit her lip and mumbled, “I’m sorry…”
Meanwhile, Adam was fuming. “Father, this kid humiliated me and even kicked Aurora! Why should we apologize? You should be teaching him a lesson for us! If you can’t handle it, I’ll find someone who can!”
p!
Graham’s patience snapped, and he pped Adam across the face without hesitation. “You idiot! Get on your knees and apologize to Mr. Wade!”
Adam was stunned, unable to believe his father would strike him in front of so many witnesses. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he instinctively covered his face, horrified at how things had spiraled out of control.
But kneeling before someone in public? Wouldn’t that tarnish the reputation of the Quinton family? How could he possibly hold his head high in Aurous Hill again?
Grinding his teeth, Graham pressed on, “You fool! If it weren’t for Mr. Wade revealing the true nature of that chalcedony pendant you’ve treated like a treasure, it could have cost you your life! It might have even brought ruin to the entire Quinton family!”
He continued, “I’ve been wondering why our family has faced so much bad lucktely. It turns out it’s all because of you! You brought this misfortune upon us with that pendant! Think about how your grandfather would react if he knew!”
Realizing how serious the situation was, Adam knelt before Charlie, fear evident in his eyes.
“I can’t hear your apology!” Graham shouted.
“Yes! Yes, I’m sorry…” Adam stammered, trembling in fear.
Graham turned to Charlie, speaking with respect. “Mr. Wade, is there anything else I can do to make amends? Will you ept their apology?”
Charlie replied promptly, “It’s fine. Since he’s already on his knees asking for forgiveness, I’ll let it slide this time.”
With a sigh of relief, Graham asked, “Mr. Wade, I have one more question. Since Adam has discarded the chalcedony pendant, can the Quinton family avoid further misfortune?”
Charlie smirked at Graham’s question. “Did you honestly think it would be that simple? That jade plug was powerful. It wasn’t just affecting Adam. In my honest opinion, the Quinton family is on a path to ruin within a year!”
