The Amazing son in law Chapter 137

Harold was quick, but Charlie was even quicker. He deftly evaded Harold’s grasp, swiftly grabbing Harold’s wrist, shaking it just enough to make a point, and sneered, “What’s the matter? Is your hand all better now? Pain is easily forgotten when there’s something to gain, huh?”

Suddenly, Harold felt a surge of force coursing through him. He stumbled back two steps, a mix of rage and shock flooding his system.

This so-called loser had some serious strength!

Realizing he was outmatched by Charlie, Harold growled coldly, “You just wait here. I’ll fetch the manager and have you thrown out!”

With that, Harold turned and shouted for the manager toe over.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Momentster, a middle-aged man in a suit and polished leather shoes approached quickly, nked by two security guards.

Wearing a diplomatic smile, the man addressed Harold respectfully, saying, “Yes, Mr. Wilson, how may I assist you?”

For privacy and security, the invitation cards did not disy guests’ names; instead, they featured a series of exclusive passwords. Scanning the code with a specific app would reveal the identity of the attendees.

Noticing Harold’s luxurious suit, the manager inferred that he came from a prominent family, while Charlie’s ordinary attire suggested otherwise. The manager smirked sheepishly as he addressed Charlie, “Sir, could you please show me your invitation card for verification?”

Though his tone was polite, a hint of disdain flickered in his eyes.

As the saying goes, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover,’ but the manager did just that. Based on Charlie’s unremarkable clothing, he concluded that Charlie couldn’t possibly be a distinguished guest at the Treasure Pavilion.

Anger and annoyance bubbled up in Charlie at the manager’s contemptuous gaze, and he retorted coldly, “What if I choose not to?”

The manager cleared his throat, regaining his professional demeanor, and asked, “May I inquire which family you belong to?”<fn4267> For original chapters go to f?ndnovel</fn4267>

Before Charlie could respond, Harold interjected rudely, “He’s part of our Wilson family. Oh wait, I misspoke; he’s just the live-in son-inw. He’s not really part of the family—more like a pet!”

The term ‘live-in son-inw’ sparked numerous assumptions in the manager’s mind. How could someone of esteemed status be reduced to such a role?

The manager’s expression darkened as he asked, “Tell me, how did you get in here?”

Charlie hadpletely lost his patience with the scrutiny. He was deeply disappointed by the Treasure Pavilion’s elitist attitude toward its guests.

He replied coldly, “I simply walked in.”

Understanding Charlie’s lesser status, the manager ceased his inquiries and stated, “If you refuse to follow the rules and provide your invitation card for verification, I’ll have to ask you to leave.”

With a wave of his hand, he signaled the two security guards to step forward, their eyes fixated on Charlie like hawks on their prey.

Jacob, sensing the tension, tugged at Charlie’s shirt nervously. “Charlie, I think we should avoid any trouble. Let’s just leave.”

Charlie frowned, confused. “Dad, don’t you want to watch the auction?”

Jacob shook his head vigorously. “No, we shouldn’t havee in the first ce. If we get kicked out, it’ll be so embarrassing…”

With his father-inw’s mind made up, Charlie sighed and nodded, following him out.

After all, it was just an auction. What was the big deal? If Jacob didn’t want to stay, there was no reason for Charlie to endure the mockery from these people.

As for Jasmine Moore, if she ever asked about it, he could simply say that the Moore family’s event was too prestigious for him to attend!

With that thought in mind, he turned and left alongside Jacob.

Behind them, Harold let out a slyugh. “Hahaha, pathetic losers! You’re scared now, huh? How dare you crash the Moore family’s auction! What a joke!”

Ignoring Harold’s taunts, Charlie continued towards the exit.

Just then, a sudden uproar erupted from the crowd.</p“manager,>
