There was something on his mind that he wanted to express, but he hesitated to voice it.
“Aren’t you just the worthless son-inw of the Wilson family, the well-known piece of trash?”
Seeing Jason’s reluctance to speak up, Charlie smirked and said, “You must think of me as nothing more than a stinky piece of trash, right?”
Jason remained silent, too afraid to respond.
With a slight smile, Charlie continued, “Honestly, I’m the young lord of the Wade family in Eastcliff, and I also chair the Emgrand Group. Do you really think your family can rival mine?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
At this moment, Jason was filled with terror.
The Wade family? Wasn’t that the richest and most powerful family in the country?
Why on earth would the young lord of the Wade familye to Aurous Hill to y the role of the Wilson family’s son-inw?
Confused, Jason stammered, “I don’t understand… If you truly are the young lord of the Wade family, why would you choose to remain as the useless son-inw of the Wilson family? Why endure the mockery and disdain from everyone? You could easily make the Wilson family bow to you with just a snap of your fingers. Everyone in Aurous Hill would have to pay their respects…”
Charlie answered calmly, “Well, mere mortals aren’t worthy of seeing the true face of a dragon, and a dragon has no need to unveil its identity.”
After checking the time, Charlie said, “Alright, Jason, it’s almost time. You should rush to catch up with your father before he gets too far! Maybe you can keep himpany…”
Jacob began to cry out in fear, but Charlie didn’t give him any opportunity to speak. Instead, he stood up, smiled at Jason, andmanded, “Thunder,e!”
With a tremendous crash, apanied by terrifying thunder and lightning, Jason was gone, leaving behind nothing but ashes and regrets.
Charlie turned to his wife and mother-inw, who were still peacefully asleep, before pulling out his cell phone to call Albert.
Once the call connected, Charlie quickly instructed, “Albert! I’m at the riverside vi. Please bring a few men and cars with you, along with some gasoline.”
Albert responded promptly, “Understood, Mr. Wade! I’m on my way!”
Approximately ten minutester, Albert arrived at the riverside vi with a group of people.
Charlie directed them to park the cars in the courtyard and then turned to Albert, saying, “Let me borrow your car. I’m taking my wife and mother-inw home, and I need you to set fire to this vi and burn it to the ground.”
Albert nodded and opened the door of his Mercedes-Benz for Charlie.
After cing his wife and mother-inw in the back seat, Charlie instructed Albert, “Make sure to speak to the media and request that they refrain from reporting on this incident.”
“Of course, Mr. Wade,” Albert agreed without hesitation.
…
Charlie drove away from the riverside vi and returned to his home in the city.<fn079e> This update is avable on </fn079e>
Once the car stopped downstairs, he gently awakened his wife and mother-inw.
As they stirred awake, both were filled with worry and fear. But when they realized they were in the car and saw Charlie’s concerned expression, they were taken aback.
ire quickly asked, “Charlie, what happened? Why are we here? Where’s Jason and his father?”
Charlie smiled gently and replied, “They’ve already fled in fear because they’re guilty of kidnapping! The police are currently pursuing them.”
“Huh?” ire gasped, “How did you manage to escape with both of us?”
Charlie exined, “I called the police before heading to the riverside vi. Just when they were about to harm me, the police arrived on the scene. The father and son were so frightened that they took off running. I doubt they’ll ever show their faces in Aurous Hill again…”
As ire recalled Charlie’s bravery when he rushed to save her, tears filled her eyes, and she said, “Thank you, dear husband…”
Charlie smiled and replied, “Why so formal? I’m your husband, and this is what a husband should do for his wife!”
For Charlie, every action taken was worth it just to hear his wife express her gratitude.<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
