Without a moment’s hesitation, Oscar sank to his knees before Charlie, his voice trembling with reverence as he implored, “Master Wade, I beg you to forgive me for any wrongs I may havemitted. Please, point out my mistakes, and I’ll rectify them at once!”
Charlie nodded thoughtfully, looking down at Oscar. He gestured toward the bewildered Jeffrey and inquired, “That guy over there ims to be your father’s best friend. Is that true?”
Oscar quickly nced at Jeffrey and replied, “We’re from the same hometown, but we can hardly be called friends—more like mere acquaintances.”
“Understood,” Charlie said, nodding again. “That kid and his…panion have been using your name to insult, threaten, and even plot against me. What’s your take on that?”
Oscar immediately grasped the situation. Charlie’s anger stemmed entirely from Jeffrey’s actions. He turned to Jeffrey, his voice rising in fury, “You little brat! Come over here and apologize to Master Wade for your behavior!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Jeffrey blinked in disbelief, clearly confused.
What does ‘Master Wade’ mean? Why is he kneeling?
Isn’t he just a useless loser? Has Oscar lost his mind?
In a moment of instinct, Jeffrey blurted out, “Uncle Oscar, that guy is just a nobody! Why are you bowing to him? You represent the Moore family! Plus, he ndered Miss Moore. You should punish him for that!”
Oscar trembled with outrage.
Did he really just suggest punishing Master Wade? Was he out of his mind?
In the upper echelons of Aurous Hill society, everyone knew of Master Wade’s renown. Lord Moore’s recovery was due to Master Wade’s acupuncture and miraculous elixir! The entire Moore family revered Charlie like a deity, treating him with the utmost respect. Despite Oscar’s position within the family, he knew his ce as a servant. If even the esteemed members of the Moore family idolized Master Wade, he too had to show him the same respect!<fn0dde> For original chapters go to find[?]ovel</fn0dde>
Lord Moore had recently been heard saying, “I can’t wait for my family to have Charlie, the true dragon among men, under our wing. I long to have him as my grandson-inw…”
Thus, Oscar viewed Charlie as being even above Lord Moore in importance!
Now, this ignorant brat, Jeffrey, had the audacity to im friendship with Oscar’s father and insult Master Wade? It was uneptable!
In a fit of indignation, Oscar stood up, pped Jeffrey across the face, andmanded the guards, “Bring him to his knees! And that woman too!”
Jeffrey was taken aback by the p. Just as he was about to voice his confusion, he felt two guards forcing him down to his knees.
Wendy was equally perplexed, dazed as she found herself pinned to the ground.
Oscar, hands on the floor, looked up at Charlie and said anxiously, “Master Wade, I apologize for associating with the wrong people. I had no idea he had such a vile son. Don’t worry, I’ll handle this personally and ensure he understands the consequences of offending you!”
Charlie replied nonchntly, “It’s fine. I’m just a nobody with little influence. What if he did offend me? It’s no big deal. Besides, he knows you and calls you by your first name, so I guess I’ll just have to take whatever he throws at me!”
From Charlie’s sarcastic tone, Oscar realized he had not yet earned forgiveness. He began to knock his head against the floor repeatedly, pleading, “Master Wade, please tell me what’s wrong. Let me know how I can ease your anger. I’m willing to do anything—even if it means harming myself!”
Charlie waved his hand dismissively. “No need for that. I simply want to know how you would react if someone insulted Miss Moore.”
He then pointed to the Supreme membership card in Jeffrey’s hand and continued, “Miss Moore entrusted me with this card, designating it as ‘All ess Supreme VIP’ to show her respect. Yet, with that guy here, it has turned into a mockery, made ridiculous by foolish individuals. Tell me, does this mean he’s calling Miss Moore foolish?”
Oscar fixed a furious, menacing re at Jeffrey and demanded, “You little brat, do you wish to die???”
