    Even Samuel could only afford the most basic ssic membership at the Glorious Club.


    As a result, it was no surprise that everyone was skeptical when Jacob imed he had been to the tenth floor of the Glorious Club.


    Jacob hadn’t anticipated that his honest statement would be dismissed as mere bragging. Feeling ufortable, he rified, “My son-inw arranged for me and some of my old ssmates to visit the tenth floor of the Glorious Club that night.”


    Samuel chuckled and remarked, “I know who your son-inw is. He’s just azy, good-for-nothing son-inw in Aurous Hill, isn’t he? I’ve heard he’s a drifter living off his wife.     Jacob scoffed coldly, responding, “Whether you believe me or not is entirely up to you.”


    With a smile, Samuel shot back, “If you really had such connections, why didn’t you invite the president and the other directors to the Glorious Club for entertainment tonight? Instead, you chose to take them to the least expensive Bronze Room at Heaven Springs.”


    As if struck by a revtion, Samuel continued, “Oh! I get it now! You don’t see the president and the directors as worthy enough! You think they belong in the Bronze Room, rather than the Glorious Club, don’t you?”


    Jacob found himself speechless, unable to counter Samuel’s usations.


    Samuel was truly insufferable, quick-witted enough to conjure up excuses that left Jacob with no room to argue.


    Even though Jacob was fuming with anger at Samuel, he couldn’t find the words to respond.


    He could only retort, “That’s not what I meant…”


    Noticing Jacob’s weak defense, Samuel waved his hand dismissively, saying, “Forget it. I can’t be bothered to argue with someone as pathetic as you. Do you honestly think you deserve the role of executive director? You’d just end up being aughingstock!”


    With that, Samuel turned to Mr. Price and the other directors, greeting them with a warm smile. “Mr. Price, pleasee with me.”


    Having reserved a Gold Room at Heaven Springs for the evening, Samuel had already garnered the favor of many present. Even the typically neutral directors were now smiling at him.


    Jacob felt a surge of frustration as he watched this unfold. He felt utterly helpless.

    Leaning closer, David advised, “You can’t afford to lose your temper. Instead, join us in the Gold Room and shine in front of the president and the other directors. You must keep fighting for what you want. If you give up now, the position of executive director will definitely slip through your fingers and into Samuel’s grasp!”


    Jacob felt a sudden rity, as though awakening from a dream!


    David was absolutely right!


    Even though he had lost to Samuel in tonight’s dinner arrangement, that didn’t mean Samuel would ultimately win.


    If Jacob chose to surrender due to his anger, all his previous efforts would have been in vain!


    With newfound resolve, Jacob expressed his gratitude to David, saying, “Thank you, Brother David, for your wise words. I will join everyone else in the Gold Room to see what Samuel is truly capable of!”


    Jacob then approached Samuel and said, “Since you’re so eager, I’ll apany you to the Gold Room to gain some insights and experience it myself.”


    Samuel sneered, saying, “I’ve already told you that you’re nothing but a pitiful fool! Yet you refuse to ept it!
