Christopher rubbed his forehead, anxiety evident on his face as he eximed, “If they find it, everything will be over for us!”
Just then, a young man in a uniform entered the vi, carrying an unusual device.
The device resembled a long pole with a circr attachment at the front, reminiscent of a mine detector seen in films.
With a hint of surprise, Christopher asked, “Is that a mine detector?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
The young man smiled and replied, “Not exactly. It’s actually a metal detector. It alerts us if there’s any metal hidden underground. While mines are made of metal, this device is calibrated differently in terms of sensitivity.”
Upon hearing that it was a metal detector, Christopher couldn’t help but express his frustration, “It’s already bad enough that you invade other people’s homes. Why do you need a metal detector for that?”
The young man exined, “Through years of experience, we’ve found that many vis have hiddenpartments in their basements. People often conceal valuable items there. My job is to locate those hidden items so we can legally seize them!”
Lady Wilson copsed to the floor upon hearing the young man’s statement.
A knot tightened in Christopher’s chest. He quickly rushed to assist the elderlydy, asking, “Mom, what antiques did Dad leave us?”<fned29> Find the newest release on find{n}ovel</fned29>
With a quiver in her voice, Lady Wilson replied, “There are two vases, an ancient painting, and a few other antiques…”
Christopher pressed further, “Are any of those antiques made of metal?”
“Yes…” The olddy panicked, adding, “There’s an old bronzemp, a set of tinware, and two gold horseshoes…”
Christopher pped his thigh in dismay, the pain mirroring his anguish. “It’s over! It’s all over now! Since you’ve hidden all those antiques in the basement, they’ll definitely find everything the moment they use the metal detector!”
Frustrated, he pointed at the olddy, eximing, “This is all your fault, you greedy olddy! I told you to take those antiques out ages ago! If you had just listened to me and brought them out, we could have sold them for cash! But you stubbornly refused, thinking you could take them with you when you die! Well, guess what? You can forget about that now. All of it is gone!”
Lady Wilson, visibly anxious, insisted, “No, it’s impossible! They won’t find them! I’ve hidden those antiques in a very discreet ce. Only I know where they are!”
As she spoke, the person in charge emerged from the vi, approaching Lady Wilson directly. In a cold tone, he stated, “Hello. We’ve discovered a hiddenpartment in your vi’s basement containing several antiques, cultural relics, and precious metals…”
Despair washed over Lady Wilson’s face as she sank to the ground.
The person in charge continued, “Since this vi is under your name, we will assume that all these hidden items belong to you. Therefore, we will legally seize these antiques, cultural relics, and precious metals. They will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will be used to settle your debts.”
“If the auction exceeds your total debt, we will refund any surplus. However, if it falls short, your creditor has the right to sue you!”
He then produced a form, stating, “Lady Wilson, if you understand what I’ve exined, please sign this authorization form!”
“I won’t sign it!” Lady Wilson shouted in a frenzy. “You have no right to take my antiques! They’re meant for my retirement!”
The young man replied coolly, “I’m sorry, but ording to thew, we have every right to seize these antiques. Refusing to sign changes nothing.”
With that, he turned and walked back into the vi.
Lady Wilson’s eyes dimmed, and she fainted on the spot…
