ine hurried up the stairs to the second floor, eager to enter Charlie and ire’s room. She felt a surge of triumph when the doorknob turned effortlessly in her hand.<fnd52b> This text is hosted at find~novel</fnd52b>

Once inside, she began to sift through their belongings.

However, since it was their first day moving into the vi, their items were still scattered everywhere, and there wasn’t much of value to be found.

ine searched diligently but couldn’t locate Charlie’s wallet or bank card. Just when her frustration began to mount, her eyes lit up with excitement as she spotted Charlie’s coat hanging in the closet. She dashed over and began checking the pockets. After a bit of rummaging, she finally discovered a sleek ck and gold bank card tucked away in one of them.

The card was covered in text from anguage she couldn’t understand, but she recognized that it was issued by Citibank.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Despite her efforts to examine the card closely, she couldn’t determine what type it was, though it certainly appeared exclusive and impressive.

Overjoyed by her find, ine quickly tucked the card into her pocket, whispering to herself, “Hehe, Charlie oh Charlie, you think you can keep your money from me? That’s okay—I’ll just take it! If only you had been a bit nicer to me earlier, I might have left you a few hundred dors in your ount. But you treated me poorly and even used Jacob to get your way. Sorry, Mister, but you’ve messed with the wrong person! Just you wait; if I can guess your password, I won’t leave you with a single penny!”

With her heart racing, ine quietly exited the vi and made her way to the nearest Citibank branch.

Meanwhile, Charlie was busy in the kitchen, pletely unaware that ine had taken his card. Just as he was scrubbing dishes, his phone rang.

He nced at the screen and felt a rush of excitement upon seeing ‘Mrs. Lewis’ disyed.

Charlie’s parents had passed away when he was just eight years old, and he would have faced a grim fate had it not been for Mrs. Lewis from the orphanage, who took him in.

Because of her kindness, Charlie had always held deep gratitude for Mrs. Lewis and fondly remembered her generosity.

This is also why he had summoned the courage to borrow money from Lady Wilson at her birthday banquet in order to raise funds for Mrs. Lewis’s kidney transnt surgery.

Later, Stephen Thompson had emerged unexpectedly, and with his help, Mrs. Lewis was transferred to Fairview Hospital in Eastcliff for top-notch care.

During that time, Charlie had only learned that her surgery was sessful and that she was recovering well, thanks to Stephen’s arrangements. He hadn’t contacted Mrs. Lewis since, wanting to give her the peace and rest she needed after surgery.

He quickly answered the call, saying, “Mrs. Lewis!”

Her warm and gentle voice filled the line. “Hi, Charlie! It’s me. How are you?”

Charlie replied enthusiastically, “I’m great! How about you?”

Mrs. Lewis chuckled. “I’m doing very well, thank you. There’s no sign of rejection, and the doctor says I’m recovering beautifully. I’ll be discharged soon and can head back to Aurous Hill in just a few days.”

Charlie beamed with joy. “That’s fantastic news! Please let me know when you’re back. I’lle to pick you up from the airport and we’ll celebrate your recovery.”

“Oh, Charlie, I can’t let you spend more money. If it wasn’t for the nurse who let it slip, I wouldn’t have known you paid for my hospital bills—millions of dors—for my surgery and care. I’m not sure how to thank you…”

Mrs. Lewis’s voice trembled as she began to sob.

Charlie felt a lump in his throat. “Oh, Mrs. Lewis, please don’t cry! I’m just trying to help. Remember when I was eight, wandering the streets for three days, starving and exhausted? If you hadn’t rescued me and brought me to the orphanage, I might not have made it…”
