The Amazing son in law Chapter 814

Dorian quickly announced, “I just got a notification stating that the money has been transferred.”

ine wasted no time and checked her mobile banking app. Her expression turned sour as she eximed, “Why haven’t I received it yet?”

“Don’t fret; it’s a whopping 21.9 billion, after all. When such a staggering sum is involved, the banking system needs to verify the transaction multiple times and also file reports at their headquarters, so the transfer can take some time,” Dorian exined.

ine, feeling increasingly impatient, snapped, “Are you serious? Do I really have to wait? How long is this going to take?!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

“I can’t say for sure; it could take anywhere from a few minutes to a full working day,” Dorian replied.

ine retorted, “Why on earth does it take so long? Push the system to work faster, or I’ll have Citibank fire you!”

“I have no control over this; it’s all decided by the headquarters. Even if you take me to court, there’s nothing I can do…” Dorian replied, looking defeated.

Realizing that Dorian had no authority to expedite the transaction, ine huffed angrily, “If I had known this would take ages, I would’ve transferred a million first before moving on to the next step. I’m so frustrated!”

“You can wait for the transaction to finalize here,” Dorian suggested.

ine felt an ufortable sensation, as if someone were poking her insides; every second felt unbearable.

    21.9 billion!

She couldn’t shake off her restlessness, even if just a moment passed.

Ultimately, there was nothing left to do but wait.

“Fine, I’ll wait here. You! Go get me a cup of coffee! I want the finest coffee you can offer!”

“Sure, I’ll take care of that right away!”

Meanwhile, at the Thompson First vi, Charlie made his way to the living room after cleaning up the kitchen. Jacob greeted him with a smile, saying, “Good son-inw,e join me for some tea.”

“Sure,” Charlie said as he settled beside him.

Jacob eagerly poured him a cup and added with a warm smile, “Thanks to you, I can enjoy this lovely vi and sip on tea. Please, have a taste.”

Charlie nodded appreciatively. “Thanks, Dad.” He took a sip, but secretly shook his head.

Jacob had been living frugally, and the tea he served was worth at most three hundred dors per kilo, yet he savored it like it was a rare treasure.

Jacob beamed as he enjoyed his tea. “This is top-notch quality; I bought it from a tea farmer’s granddaughter on Facebook for five thousand dors a kilo. I wasn’t ready to spend more, so I only bought a hundred grams and will savor it gradually.”

Charlie questioned, perplexed, “A tea farmer’s granddaughter? Did her grandfather fall ill, prompting her to sell his premium tea at a bargain to afford his medical expenses?”

“How did you know?” Jacob chuckled. “Good tea is hard to find at such low prices. I just happened upon a great deal. If you like it, I’ll share some with youter.”

Charlie sighed in resignation, “Dad, that’s a scam online. You’ve been taken for a ride.”

“Impossible!” Jacob insisted, his expression serious. “The girl was so kind! She even shared videos and pictures!”

Amused, Charlieughed, “It’s all staged; they have fake materials and information to swindle people like you. The ‘girl’ you were chatting with could very well be a grumpy old man.”

As he spoke, he couldn’t help but think that Jacob rarely had the opportunity to encounter the real thing, given his modest means.

In his youth, the tea he enjoyed with his father wasn’t sold by the kilo but by the gram, and none of it was cheaper than gold.

Knowing that his father-inw hadn’t had the chance to experience such high-quality tea, Charlie resolved to buy some authentic top-tier tea for him in the future.

Just then, Charlie’s phone buzzed with a new message.

“Dear Mr. Charlie Wade, the fund transfer of $21,900,000,000.00 from your ck card ount at 15:02 today was sessful.”

Reading the message, Charlie’s expression shifted to one of shock as he muttered, “What?!”<fnfc76> Follow current nov?ls on find{n}ovel</fnfc76>
