Jacob drove his BMW 5 Series to Shangri-La to pick Matilda up, eager to revisit their alma mater together.
Matilda, dressed in a long gray wool coat, exuded ss and elegance, leaving Jacob captivated when he spotted her at the Shangri-La entrance.
He quickly exited his car to open the door for her, unable to hide his admiration: “Matilda, you look absolutely stunning today!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Matilda smiled modestly and replied, “I’m no longer young, so I can’t possibly be that beautiful! I decided to make an effort and dress nicely today since we’re returning to our alma mater. I wouldn’t want to embarrass it!”
She continued, “Plus, we’ll be having a ss reunion with our old friends today.”
Jacob tapped his forehead lightly, realizing his oversight. “Oh right! I was so excited about visiting our alma mater that Ipletely forgot about the reunion. Do we have a venue booked? If not, I can ask my son-inw to help arrange it.”
Matilda quickly assured him, “We’ve already decided on the location. I asked Paul to handle everything for tonight. He told me he secured a reservation at a ce called Glorious Club.”
Jacob was taken aback. “Glorious Club? Their membership requirements are quite strict. Did Paul manage to get a membership as soon as he arrived in Aurous Hill?”
Matilda chuckled, “I’m not sure of all the details. All I know is that he mentioned ourw firm has a long-standing partnership with Glorious Club’s parentpany, which entrusts their overseas legal affairs to us.”
Jacob felt a jolt of surprise. The parentpany of Glorious Club was owned by the renowned Moore family in Aurous Hill. He hadn’t anticipated that Matilda’s family had such connections!
Initially, Jacob had intended to ask his son-inw, Charlie, to arrange the reunion at Glorious Club to impress Matilda. However, he was impressed that Matilda’s son had already taken care of everything.
With a weing gesture, Jacob said, “Come on, Matilda. Please, get in the car.”
Matilda graciously thanked him before settling into the passenger seat of Jacob’s BMW 5 Series.
As they drove toward Aurous Hill University, Jacob inquired, “You haven’t been back here in over twenty years, have you?”
Matilda replied, “I’ve returned to China a few times, but I visited Southaven and never came back to Aurous Hill.”
Curious, Jacob asked, “Is it because of that incident from years ago? Is that why you’ve avoideding back to Aurous Hill?”
Matilda responded earnestly, “Yes, that incident yed a part in it. I didn’t want to relive those memories. Additionally, I have no rtives in Aurous Hill, and I’ve lost touch with all our old ssmates. That’s why I stayed away.”
