“Gathering?” ine eximed. “That idiot Jacob still wants to go out for a gathering? Who is he meeting up with?”
Charlie responded, “He’s meeting some of his old ssmates. I’m not sure about the details. Should I call him?”
ine snapped back, “I need you to pick me up first! I’m injured and need to get to the hospital right now!”
Charlie asked, “Mom, what happened? Are you okay?”
ine retorted angrily, “My leg is broken! Stop asking questions and get here now!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Charlie said, “Alright, I’ll head over right away.”
After ending the call, Charlie quickly left the house and grabbed a cab, heading straight to Aurous Hill Detention Center.
While en route, he called ire, saying, “Honey, Mom just called. I’m on my way to pick her up.”<fn88d7> Th? link to the orig?n of this information r?sts ?n find[?]ovel</fn88d7>
ire’s voice lit up with excitement, “Really? Did Mom actually call you? Where is she? Is she alright?”
Charlie exined, “She’s at the Aurous Hill Detention Center. Apparently, she got involved with some MLM scam and was arrested two days ago. She’s finally being released today.”
ire suddenly realized the gravity of the situation.
She had suspected that their mother had been deceived by a pyramid scheme, but she hadn’t anticipated that the police would arrest her!
It was clear that she needed to speak with her mother and warn her not to trust anyone who promised quick riches!
Determined, ire said, “I’ming over too! I’ll meet you at the detention center!”
Charlie quickly replied, “No need toe all the way here. Mom mentioned she’s injured, so I’ll take her straight to the hospital. You can meet us there.”
ire asked nervously, “What happened? How serious is her injury?”
Charlie answered, “She told me her leg is broken. I’m not sure how serious it is. We’ll find out when we see the doctor.”
At that moment, ire’s worry turned to tears as she said, “Okay, take her to the emergency room at Sacred Heart Hospital. I’ll head there now!”
…
When Charlie arrived at the detention center, he was shocked to see how much ine had suffered.
Her face was bruised and battered, her body covered in wounds, and both her front teeth were missing. It was clear that her hair had been pulled, leaving patches of her scalp exposed.
Moreover, ine hadn’t eaten or drunk anything in the two days she had been locked up, making her appear haggard and significantly thinner.
What struck Charlie the most was her right leg, which was broken at the knee and hanging at an unnatural angle. It was evident that she had endured severe pain.
Feigning surprise, Charlie asked, “Mom, what happened to you? How did you get so hurt?”
“That’s none of your business!” ine snapped, gritting her teeth. “Just take me to the hospital already!”
Charlie shrugged and replied, “Alright, Mom. The cab is waiting for us outside. Let’s get you to the hospital.”
At that moment, a police officer shot ine a cold look and said, “ine! What did I just tell you? If you keep up this attitude, you might as well stay in the detention center!”
Frightened by the officer’s words, ine quickly backtracked, eximing, “Oh, my dear son-inw! It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have yelled…”
The officer warned her sternly, “Remember what I said. We’re letting you out temporarily, but we’ll be keeping a close watch on you. Do you understand?”
