The cab driver sped toward Sacred Heart Hospital, urgency in every turn.
Charlie, seated in the front beside the driver, turned to ine and said, “Mom, I’ve already called ire. She’s on her way to Sacred Heart Hospital right now. We’ll get a doctor to look at your leg as soon as we arrive.”
ine let out a bitter snort and turned to gaze out the window, her anger palpable. She then cryptically remarked, “It’s really unfortunate to have a son-inw like you, always bringing me trouble!”
Feigning ignorance, Charlie asked, “Mom, what do you mean by that? When have I ever caused you any trouble?”
ine shot him a re through the rearview mirror, her voice icy as she retorted, “Don’t ask me anything! Figure it out yourself! I won’t say a word, no matter how much you plead!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Having received numerous warnings from the police, ine was careful not to unleash her frustration directly at Charlie. Instead, she resorted to this cryptic method to express her anger.
Charlie understood the absurdity of his mother-inw’s thoughts. He responded, “I’m sorry, Mom, but I truly cannot think of any trouble I could have caused you.”
ine was seething, feeling as though her chest might explode. Countless curses she wished to unleash on Charlie danced on the tip of her tongue, but she swallowed them down, choosing to keep her feelings bottled up.
To distract herself from her anger towards Charlie, ine shifted the conversation to Jacob. “Who did your father-inw go out to meet today? When did he leave?” she suddenly inquired.
Charlie replied, “He left this morning, but I’m not sure who he’s meeting. I didn’t ask for the details.”
He was well aware that if ine discovered her husband was at a ss reunion with his first love and old ssmates, she would be furious, perhaps even wanting to demolish the cab in her rage. So, he decided to y dumb, leaving it to her to confront Jacobter.
Frustrated, ine began to curse, “Didn’t they just have a ss reunion not long ago? Why are they gathering again so soon? It seems like he’s living it up while I’ve been stuck in the detention center for the past two days!”

Meanwhile, Jacob was enjoying himself at the Glorious Club, surrounded by Matilda and his old ssmates. He was in high spirits; none of his ssmates, including Greyson, dared to ridicule him.
This wasrgely due to Oscar serving Jacob and his ssmates personally, as a favor to Charlie—a rare urrence in Aurous Hill.
As everyone savored a hearty lunch, the excitement in the air led Matilda to book a karaoke room at the Glorious Club for even more fun.
The karaoke setting at the club was known to be the best in Aurous Hill. Even with around a dozen ssmates in the room, it felt spacious, with luxurious decor and advanced,fortable facilities.
The only downside was therge number of attendees; everyone chose various songs, which meant long waits before it was anyone’s turn to sing.
Jacob eagerly selected the song ‘My Intimate Love’ and waited over thirty minutes for his turn. Finally, microphone in hand, he offered a second microphone to Matilda, saying, “Matilda, let’s sing this song together.”
‘My Intimate Love’ was a well-known duet, loved by the older generation, and sung by a couple in real life, infusing the song with even more sweetness.
As Jacob chose this song and invited Matilda to join him, his ssmates erupted in yful teasing.
“Oh, Jacob! You picked that song on purpose and asked the lovely Matilda to sing it with you. What are you up to?” one of them joked.
Another chimed in, “Come on! Isn’t it obvious? Everyone knows!”
A third added, “Jacob and Matilda should have been a couple ages ago. They haven’t seen each other in over twenty years, so it’s only fitting they sing this love song together!”
