The Amazing son in law Chapter 981

The only way for Jeff to secure his reimbursement was through the receipt.

This made Jeff extremely frustrated upon learning that Charlie had already taken the receipt.

He had been eagerly anticipating this receipt to file his reimbursement with thepany. If Charlie refused to return it, Jeff wouldn’t just miss out on iming for the meal; he would also suffer a loss of one hundred thousand dors. Wouldn’t this just exacerbate an already difficult situation?

With these thoughts in mind, Jeff stormed back to the table, his anger boiling over. He confronted Charlie, demanding, “Charlie, did you sneak off to the front desk to get a receipt for yourself? Hand it over to me right now!”

Charlie responded nonchntly, “This meal was a joint expense for both of us. What’s wrong with me obtaining a receipt from the front desk? I paid a hundred thousand dors for this meal, remember?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

“You…” Jeff stammered, left speechless. After a moment of silence, he retorted angrily, “You don’t even have a job or apany of your own. What do you need a receipt for?”

With a smile, Charlie replied, “Are you not aware that many restaurants these days intentionally avoid giving out receipts? If they don’t issue receipts, the tax authorities can’t track their earnings. Consequently, they end up evading taxes and not contributing to the country!”

As he exined, Charlie surveyed the table and addressed everyone, “As responsible citizens, it’s our obligation to pay taxes as required byw. We must also ensure that restaurants fulfill their tax responsibilities. Don’t you all agree?”

    Everyone nodded in agreement.

Lisa chimed in, “Some restaurants can be quite sneaky. If you don’t ask for a receipt, they might skip paying taxes altogether. Therefore, we need to make sure these establishments give receipts so they can fulfill their tax obligations to the state treasury.”

Caleb agreed, stating, “The food industry is exceptionally lucrative. They can’t possibly justify evading taxes while raking in such substantial profits.”

From the side, William chuckled and added, “You can always chat with the restaurant manager. If they refuse to provide a receipt, ask for a discount or aplimentary drink instead. If a restaurant won’t give me a receipt, I usually request a Coke in return. I refuse to let them take advantage of me.”

Charlie snickered and remarked, “William, you’re quite clever! I’d love to learn more from you!”

Thinking he was being praised, William smirked and said, “This is just the wisdom of life.”

However, Jeff shot a cold re at Charlie and said, “Stop with the pointless chatter! It doesn’t matter to you anyway. Hand over the receipt!”

“Why should I?” Charlie retorted coldly. “Why is the receipt useless in my hands but valuable in yours? We’re all enjoying this dinner together. Don’t tell me you want the receipt just to im reimbursement from yourpany?”

Jeff was taken aback by Charlie’s urate assessment of his intentions. Flustered, he stammered, “What nonsense are you saying? I share your mindset. I wanted the restaurant to issue a receipt so they can properly pay their taxes!”

Charlie nodded and gave him a thumbs up, saying, “Jeff, I didn’t expect you to be such a responsible citizen! Well done, well done. Here’s a thumbs up for you!”

As he spoke, Charlie pulled the receipt from his pocket and said, “This receipt is in my name, meaning it can’t be used for any reimbursement. But the restaurant is still obligated to pay taxes for the two hundred thousand dors we spent on this meal. So you needn’t worry, Jeff; they will pay their fair share.”

Jeff, feeling anxious, blurted out, “Who gave you the right to issue the receipt under your name?”

Since the receipt was already in someone else’s name, even if Jeff somehow got it, he wouldn’t be able to use it for reimbursement. The thought made him feel as if he might explode from frustration.

Charlie smiled and said, “You didn’t stop me from issuing the receipt. Besides, I mentioned earlier that we’re splitting the bill, so either of us could have requested it from the front desk. It’s just a matter of who did it first.”

With a triumphant smile, Charlie added, “Let’s not argue over a trivial matter like who asked for the receipt first. We’re treating everyone to dinner tonight, and it’s not like we’ll be seeking reimbursement from ourpanies afterward. So here’s what I’ll do: I’ll tear this receipt in front of everyone, so neither of us will have it. How does that sound?”

Before Jeff could even respond, Charlie tore the receipt in half.

Watching Charlie rip the receipt apart felt like a dagger to Jeff’s heart.

It was over. Completely over. The one hundred thousand dors he had spent on this meal was lost!<fn6c00> For original chapters go to f?ndnovel</fn6c00><h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
