    Caleb nodded, smiling. “You know Travis Lane too?”

    “Really?” Caleb eximed, surprised. “Chairman Lane is known for being secretive and elusive. Only people from the main headquarters get to meet him; those of us in smallerpanies rarely have that chance.”


    In Lancaster, Travis was almost like a king, owning numerouspanies and industries.


    The lightingpany where Caleb worked was just a small branch under Travis’s vast empire. Even the head of thatpany had only met Travis a few times.


    Hence, Caleb was both shocked and intrigued by Charlie’s revtion about meeting Travis.


    “Charlie, how did youe to meet our Chairman Lane?” he asked.


    Charlie smiled and exined, “I attended a gathering hosted by a friend, and Travis happened to be there too.”


    The first time Charlie encountered Travis was at an event where Jasmine had invited him to assess a piece of jade. Interestingly, Travis was also interested in that jade and had brought along a supposed expert. Charlie helped reveal that the so-called expert was actually a fraud.


    Later, during the incident where Charlie dealt with Jack Yaleman, Travis was present as well. Although they weren’t close friends, Travis had always shown Charlie respect, recognizing him as a significant figure in the metaphysicsmunity.


    Since Caleb was employed by apany owned by Travis, Charlie felt he could advocate for his friend.


    “Let me call Travis and see if he can arrange a new position for you,” Charlie offered.

    Caleb had assumed that Charlie had merely met Travis at the gathering without establishing any real connection. He didn’t harbor any disdain for his brother; rather, he viewed Travis as a figure too lofty and untouchable for someone like him.
