Despite his youth, Charlie was no fool.
Duran believed he had sessfully swayed Charlie, but in reality, Charlie had been on high alert against the eight men confronting him from the very start.
For Charlie, the idea of subjugating these eight men was never appealing; he simply viewed them with disdain.
Given their meager strength and abilities, what could they possibly offer him, even if they were to idolize him as their master?
To him, they were akin to a pack of unruly and wild dogs, pletely unworthy of his concern.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
With a yful smile, he stepped forward to face The Eight Heavenly Kings and asked, “So, do you genuinely wish to serve me as your master?”
Duran, leading the pack, responded eagerly, “Yes! We’ll be your loyal ves for eternity!”
Charlie nodded, still smiling, and posed a simple question, “What if I refuse?”
“Uh…”
Duran and the others were taken aback. They hadn’t anticipated such a response from Charlie.
‘What the hell? Is he really this arrogant?’ Duran thought, preparing tosh out at Charlie.
On his knees, he crawled to Charlie’s feet, bowing his head in submission, and with a hint of sobbing in his voice, he pleaded, “Master Wade, I have never bowed to anyone before, but you are the only one who captivates me! Please, I beg for your mercy, and grant us the chance to serve you! Even though weck your strength, we consider ourselves skilled in our own right. I hope you won’t look down on us.”
Charlie chuckled, as if hearing a funny joke. “If you wish to serve me, it’s not your strength that matters, but your character. If your personality iscking, you won’t stand a chance with me.”
He then turned his gaze to Duran and remarked coldly, “And you—just look at yourself! With those narrow eyes, thin eyebrows, protruding teeth, thin lips, long tongue, and sharp cheekbones, you have the typical face of a rogue. What would people think of me if I took you on as my servant?”
Duran was shocked by the insulting from Charlie, especially after he had knelt before him. It was outrageous!
From the corner of his eye, Duran noticed Charlie standing with an air of arrogance, hands behind his back, head held high, and realized this was his moment to strike!
Suddenly, he drew a ck dagger from his left hand, aiming it straight at Charlie’s legs.
Charlie looked at him with a mocking sneer, remaining as still as a statue as he said, “Go ahead, I’ll let you stab me!”
Duran was caught off guard by Charlie’s apparentck of fear and his willingness to endure the attack!
Once the dagger, coated with poison and radioactive powder, made contact, it would be a one-way ticket to destruction!
After all, the kid was inexperienced, so taking him out today wouldn’t be a loss!
A wicked grin spread across Duran’s face as he growled, “You bastard! You destroyed my right arm and insulted my appearance. I’ll take my revenge today!”<fn1dfd> Chapters first released on find(?)ovel</fn1dfd>
With that, he threw the dagger straight at Charlie!
But then, something strange urred!
The dagger was mere millimeters away from Charlie’s leg, yet it seemed caught by an invisible barrier that prevented it from reaching him, no matter how hard Duran tried!
“What… What’s happening?!”
