Harold felt as though he had taken a series of hard hits.
In disbelief, he eximed, “How on earth did that pathetic loser Charlie end up with such an expensive car? And it’s not just one—it’s two!”
Christopher wore a grim expression. “I can only assume Charlie is out there scamming people again! I just don’t get it. Are all the wealthy and influential folks in Aurous Hillpletely out of their minds? Why do they have so much faith in that pathetic jerk, Charlie?”
Harold was equally disturbed and replied angrily, “I want to understand that too! Damn it! I’ve been waiting for that bastard Charlie to get what he deserves, yet here he is, living the high life!”
With her eyes welling up, Wendy added, “If it weren’t for Charlie, Gerald and I would already be married. Our family wouldn’t be in such dire straits right now. My mother wouldn’t have had to endure the hardships of working in the coal mine either.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Christopher snapped, “Don’t even mention that B*tch!”
At that moment, Lady Wilson spotted Charlie and ire driving out in a car that had a rather odd-looking front. Approaching the driver’s side, she looked at Charlie and arrogantly remarked, “I was curious about what impressive car your family bought, but it turns out to be this piece of junk! How does it differ from a Ford Mondeo? The security team captain who used to work for Wilson Group drove this same model. It’s only worth about two hundred thousand dors!”
The Aston Martin had been acquired by The Ford Group, and the Mondeo, which had beenunched recently, featured a design that echoed the ssic shark face of Aston Martin models. As such, the Ford Mondeo was often referred to as the Aston Mondeo.
Despite its poprity and ubiquity on the streets, Aston Martin represented a premium sports car brand. Most people had limited exposure to Aston Martins, which led to a situation where many, like Lady Wilson, became more familiar with the Mondeo and could mistakenly identify the Aston Martin as a Mondeo.
Charlie, unfazed by Lady Wilson’sments, chose not to engage in an argument. He simply stated, “It doesn’t matter whether my car is worth two hundred thousand or one hundred million dors. You’re blocking my driveway, so please move your car. I need to leave.”
From the balcony above, ine looked down at Lady Wilson and sneered, “You old hag! You really have no clue. This isn’t a Ford Mondeo; it’s clearly an Aston Martin. You’re trying to show off without even knowing what you’re talking about!”
Lady Wilson red up at ine and shouted, “Aston Martin, really? Please! I’ve seen all kinds of luxury cars in my lifetime. I refuse to believe that such a small vehicle could be more expensive than my Bentley!”
Although Harold often enjoyed putting on airs, he recognized that trying to show off now would only lead to greater embarrassment. Consequently, he quickly opened the car door and got out to assist Lady Wilson, saying, “Grandma, let’s head home.”
“Go home? Why should we leave now?” Lady Wilson scoffed. “Today marks theeback of the Wilson Group, a significant event for our family! I want them to see that they aren’t as grand as they think just because they live in a fancy vi at Thompson First. They may have a nice ce, but they’re still far behind us! We’re driving a Bentley, while what do they have? A small, worthless two-seater!”
Harold felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him and replied, “Grandma, his car is far more expensive than ours! It’s a super sports car worth millions!”<fndd98> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? find{n}ovel</fndd98>
“What?” Lady Wilson gasped in disbelief. “A little car like that is worth millions? Is it made of gold?”
Harold’s face burned with shame as he quietly exined, “It’s not just the car Charlie is driving that’s worth tens of millions; the one parked in his courtyard is also worth millions. Together, the value of those two cars is nearly one hundred million dors!”<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
