For Leann and David, it was clear: they would go to any lengths, even severing their rtionship with their son, if it meant they could control him. Every sacrifice they made would be justified as long as they achieved their goal.
With frustration boiling over, Steve shouted, “Since none of you respect me, I have nothing left to say! If you want to cut ties, then do it!”
Leann’s anger erupted at her son’s deration. “What a cold-hearted, ungrateful child! Honestly, raising a dog would have been a better choice than raising someone like you! You’d choose to disown your family for that… that low-life woman! I can’t believe I wasted so many years on such a disloyal son!”
Steve replied, “I’m sorry, Mom. I refuse to spend my life being manipted by you.”<fn1657> Th?s chapter is updated by FindN()vel</fn1657>
David, incensed, barked, “You worthless son! If you walk out on us today, don’t expect any inheritance! Think carefully before you make this mistake!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Steve responded calmly, “That’s fine. I don’t want it.”
With that, Steve took Isabe’s hand and began to leave the banquet hall.
Leann watched in fury, her voice rising as she shouted, “Stop that heartless boy! He must not leave this banquet hall! It’s that good-for-nothing girl who should be thrown out!”
As her voice faded, the Carson family moved swiftly toward the exit to block the departing couple, surrounding them.
Leann stormed over to Isabe, raised her hand, and pped her across the face, her eyes zing with rage. “You demonic seductress! What have you done to my son? What poison have you fed him?! If you don’t leave him alone, I swear I will kill you!”
Isabe, stunned and in shock, touched her cheek gently and said tearfully, “Aunty, Steve and I have been together for years. We truly love each other. Please… can’t you give us your blessings?”
“I’ll bless your dead grandparents!” Leann’s fury escted at Isabe’s deration of love. She raised her hand again to strike Isabe, but Steve caught her wrist just in time.
In a menacing tone, he warned, “That’s enough. If you don’t back off, you’ll have to deal with me.”
Leann retorted, “Who are you to tell me what to do?!”
Charlie, smirking, added, “This is my wife’s disciple. You not only can’t mistreat her, but you’re also expected to show her respect. I’m giving you three seconds to apologize, or don’t me me for what happens next.”
“Curses!” Leann was too focused on the fifty million dor dowry to back down. Even if a heavenly king appeared before her, she wouldn’t budge. She pointed at Charlie, her voice rising, “Aren’t you the one with two sports cars? What are you going on about? Who do you think you are to speak to me like that? This is none of your business, so stay out of our family issues! If you interfere, I won’t hold back!”
Charlie chuckled at her outburst. “You won’t hold back? You’re just an old hag. Not only do you have a sharp tongue, but your ego is as inted as your words!”
“What did you just call me?!” Leann’s anger reached its peak at beingbeled an ‘old hag’. She took great care of her appearance, always praised for her youthful looks and grace. To be insulted like this was beyond anything she had ever experienced.
Fuming, she felt the urge to confront Charlie and unleash her wrath on him!
David was equally enraged, his voice icy as he addressed Charlie. “Master Wade, do you really think your actions are eptable? Do you believe that our Carson family fears you just because of your wealth? I warn you, if you dare involve yourself in our family matters, I’ll make sure you leave Hilton on a stretcher!”
