Suddenly, a group of thirty to forty fierce-looking men emerged from the other vehicles, their presencemanding attention.
Under Caesar’s orders, these men swiftly moved to encircle the crowd.
Grant waved frantically, calling out, “Caesar!”
Caesar acknowledged him with a slight nod and then turned to inquire, “Mr. Ward, who is so foolish as to offend you?”
Grant pointed an using finger at Charlie, his anger boiling over. “Caesar, this little brat not only insulted me but also disrespected my daughter!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Caesar raised his eyebrows and turned to face Charlie. Upon seeing him, a wave of fear washed over Caesar.
Oh no!
It was Master Wade!
As one of Don Albert’s Four Great Guardians and one of his most powerful and favored associates, Caesar had previously encountered Charlie at a banquet held at The Heaven Springs.
During that event, Don Albert had disyed extreme humility toward Charlie, even appearing nervous in their conversations. As a result, Caesar had never introduced himself to Charlie.
He was now horrified to realize that Grant had dared to provoke Master Wade. In a panic, he stammered, trying to rify, “Master… Wade…”
But Charlie cut him off. “You’ve got the wrong person.”
“What?” Caesar replied quickly and with utmost respect, “How can that be? I saw you at The Heaven Springs…”
Charlie raised his brows and insisted, “I told you, you’re mistaken. Are you deaf?”
Caesar’s insides twisted with fear at Charlie’s tone. He realized Charlie didn’t want his identity revealed and decided to go along with this.
Just then, Grant, furious, shouted at Charlie, “How dare you speak to Caesar like that? Are you looking for trouble?! Do you really think Caesar won’t have his men tear you apart?!”
Grant’s words sent a shiver down Caesar’s spine, making his legs weak and prompting thoughts of kneeling on the ground.
In a fit of anger, he turned to Grant and pped him hard across the face. “Grant Ward, you fool! Do you want to die? Do you think I wouldn’t take you out myself?!”<fnec2c> Readplete version only at find{n}ovel</fnec2c>
Grant was taken aback by the p.
What is going on here?!
I called for backup to deal with this punk, and now I’m the one getting pped?!
Feeling wronged, Grant covered his face and asked Caesar incredulously, “Caesar, why did you hit me?!”
Caesar was seething with rage, barely containing himself.
Why did I hit you?! I’m the one who should be worried about my life!
Out of all the people, why did you have to provoke Master Wade?! You’re practically signing my death warrant!
Do you even realize how many who have crossed Master Wade have ended up at Don Albert’s dog farm? Are you trying to get me killed?!
Yet, Caesar didn’t dare voice these thoughts. Master Wade was already visibly angry and had made it clear he wanted to keep his identity under wraps.
Suppressing his fear and frustration, Caesar finally said, “The reason I struck you is that your wordsck substance. You shouldn’t be so quick to threaten violence. Focus on the quality of your speech, do you understand?”
Grant, feeling utterly wronged, retorted, “But you also called me scum and threatened to kill me! How does that make sense?”
