    Skye and her mother felt as if they might faint upon hearing his shocking announcement.

    Grant’s wife, exasperated, retorted, “How can you be thinking about your grandson right now?! We need to find a way out of this! You can’t let your own daughter marry that awful man!”


    Grant sighed deeply, “Honestly, there’s little I can do at this point. If our daughter refuses to marry, it will spell disaster for our family. Do you really believe we cane up with a different solution?”


    Despair washed over Grant’s wife as she cried, “Oh my God! What sins have wemitted?”


    Grant urged, “Stop dwelling on that for now and get the marriage certificate quickly! Master Wade is still waiting for your wedding banquet. If we keep dying, Don Albert and Chairman Cameron will certainly retaliate against me, and our family will be finished!”


    Skye wailed, “Dad! You can’t force me into a living nightmare! You can’t expect me to marry that nasty old man! I’m only twenty-six!”


    Grant responded, “If you refuse to marry him, those powerful figures will definitely retaliate. At that point, we might lose everything. Our family could end up with nothing, and you won’t even have the means to give birth to your child. You’ve always lived a life of luxury, insisting on the best food and products.
